Two BUMN Marketing Award Titles for Pindad

PT Pindad (Persero) was awarded in the field of marketing its leading products. Through the 2014 BUMN Marketing Award, the Bronze Award for Strategic and Tactical categories were successfully obtained by PT Pindad (Persero). The awarding event was held on August 21^st, 2014 at JS Luwansa Grand Ballroom Hotel, South Jakarta and attended by Minister of State Owned Enterprises (SOE), Dahlan Iskan.

BUMN Marketing Award was the annual event that competing marketing strategies from State Owned Enterprises companies in marketing their products. On this competition, the award was given for some categories, such as : strategic category which judged from three elements that were brand management, product management, and customer management and tactical categories that judged from some elements such as communication, sales, and service. In addition, was also given the Special Award for the companies which not only thought about the traditional marketing stratgey, but also marketing in the future, named the New Wave Marketing and Marketing 3.0.  

According to Chairman Committee of 2014 BUMN Marketing Award, Hadi M Djuraid, this awarding event was held to encourage SOE companies corporatisation to develop their competitiveness. This event was held to support the spirit for SOE corporatisation. As repeatedly stated by Mr Dahlan Iskan, the corporatisation characteristic is the extent to which the activity of marketing has become the vital activity for the SOE.

The event that was took Get Ready for ASEAN Economic Community 2015 as its main theme also gave some signals that the future competition would be more strict and the competitor would be emerged not only from SOE companies but also from the private sector, from domestic and foreign countries. Therefore, according to the co-founder and CEO of Markplus Inc, Hermawan Kertajaya, were presented the judges from the private companies to judge more objectively. The SOE corporatisation spirit that owned by Mr. Dahlan Iskan asserted that colleagues in SOE companies to be more competitive compared to the private sector, therefore the judges that presented are not come from SOE companies.

On his speech, Minister of SOE Dahlan Iskan said that the SOE companies were established and maintained for three main reasons, The first reason is for the state defense and security purpose, the second is as the engine for growth, and the latter is to become the regional champion. These reasons were the causes that the competitiveness of SOE companies should always be maintained, as the country instrument to grow and develop, and eventually could be a reckoned companies in regional area and able to compete with another countries.

The awarding event was also livened up by special speech by Lim Hwee Hua, about goverment role in business which summarized in her book that titled Government In Business: Friend Or Foe? and sharing moment by the champions. (Anggia)
