Special Guard Detachment of the Indonesian Ministry of Defense, training with Pindad SS2-V5 A1 & G2

The Special Guard Detachment of the Indonesian Ministry of Defence conducted shooting and weapon correction exercises which were held at the Kopassus Education and Training Center, Batujajar starting from January 27, 2021. This activity will be held for 40 days by implementing health protocols. The Pindad-made weapons used in the training program are the SS2-V5 A1 and the G2 Combat pistol.

The SS2-V5 A1 weapon is one of the newest SS2 variants, has an ergonomic design, is resistant to high humidity, has a lighter load, and can add to user comfort. SS2-V5 A1 is the latest version of the SS2-V5, where the most contrasting design is found on the SS2-V5 folding stock which is replaced by a telescopic model.

The SS2-V5 A1 weapon is here to meet the needs of operations in the aspect of rate of fire and aim, equipped with a tiny rail facility on both the side and top which functions as a laser point and a flashlight, this is effective in indoor combat with low light.

The caliber of bullets used in the SS2-V5 A1 is of the NATO standard, namely 5.56 x 45 mm with an average of 700 rounds / minute. The bullet speed can reach up to 720 m / s with an effective range of 200.
