CEO of Pindad receive Doctorate in Management Science from Padjajaran University

CEO of PT Pindad (Persero), Abraham Mose earned his doctorate through a dissertation related to business strategies in improving the performance of SOEs in the defense industry cluster with very satisfactory graduation results. Abraham Mose found novelty or novelty elements (findings) from the academic research.

Abraham Mose held a doctoral promotion session to complete the Doctoral Study Program in Management Science at the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) Padjadjaran University, Bandung, West Java, on Monday (16/8). In an online session, Abraham presented his dissertation entitled "Business Strategy Models in Improving the Performance of SOEs in the Defense and High Technology Industry Clusters in Indonesia".

This study aims to determine and analyze the effect of industrial attractiveness and uniqueness of resources on competitive strategies and relationship strategies and their implications for the business performance of the defense industry BUMN business units in Indonesia.

This research has high originality because it has never been done by previous researchers. Based on the research findings, the research novelty was obtained, called "A Model for Building Alutsista Industry Awakening Based on Competitive Strategies and Relationship Strategies".

The novelty of this study reveals that improving business performance in the defense industry of SOEs business units in Indonesia relies on improving competitive strategies and relationship strategies built by developing unique resources and adapting industrial attractiveness.

In his scientific oration, Abraham also said that the Ministry of SOEs led by the Minister of SOEs, Erick Thohir is establishing a Defense Industry of SOEs Holding named Defense Industry Indonesia (DEFEND ID) which is targeted to become the Top 50 Global Defense Company by 2024. Preparatory of holding business strategies, through competitive strategies and appropriate relationship strategies to support the performance of each subsidiary and to prevent overlapping between subsidiaries is needed.

Present at the doctoral promotion session were the Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries of the Republic of Indonesia, Sakti Wahyu Trenggono, who previously served as the Deputy Minister of Defense of the Republic of Indonesia, Sakti Wahyu Trenggono; Assistant Deputy for SOE Manufacturing Industry, Liliek Mayasari; Member of Commission I DPR RI, Dave Laksono and the President Directors of Defense Industries of SOEs; President Director of PT Barata Indonesia (Persero), Fajar Harry Sampurno, the entire Board of Directors and Commissioners of PT Pindad (Persero), echelon 1 officials within PT Pindad (Persero), as well as Directors of subsidiaries and Pindad Group.

The Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries of the Republic of Indonesia, Sakti Wahyu Trenggono, congratulated him on his doctoral degree. "Congratulations to Mr. Abraham Mose on your doctorate, hopefully the results of scientific work can have a good impact on the next generation in the application of science," said Sakti Wahyu Trenggono.
