Witnessed by the Indonesian Minister of Defense, PT Pindad and Nexter Sign Cooperation

Jakarta - CEO of PT Pindad, Abraham Mose and CEO of Nexter, Domique Guillet signed a Head of Agreement (HOA) in the defense sector, especially regarding the latest generation 120 mm tank ammunition in the Indo Defense 2022 Expo & Forum on Wednesday, 02 November 2022 at JIExpo Kemayon, Jakarta. The signing of the HOA between PT Pindad and Nexter was witnessed by the Indonesian Minister of Defense, Prabowo Subianto. The signing ceremony was also attended by the French Ambassador, Turkish Ambassador, and Spanish Ambassador.

The signing of the HOA this time is a continuation of defense cooperation between PT Pindad and Nexter after previously both parties agreed to cooperate in the procurement of 120 mm tank ammunition at the Eurosatory exhibition in Paris, France on June 14, 2022.

Nexter is a leading French ground defense company and one of the major European players in the ammunition sector which also part of the KNDS Group.  Its business scope also includes the supply of weapons and ammunition systems to the air force and navy.

Scope of Cooperation in the signing of the HOA between PT Pindad and Nexter covers a complete range of 120 mm tank ammunition, including SHARD APFSDS, High Explosive and training. Nexter as a leading defense industry has the competence to design and manufacture 120 mm tank ammunition compatible with all Main Battle Tanks equipped with 120 mm NATO smooth bore guns. The cooperation agreement can also encourage strong local manufacturing to strengthen Indonesia's industrial capabilities.

CEO of PT Pindad, Abraham Mose stated that the strategic partnership with Nexter will support PT Pindad in meeting the needs of the TNI regarding large-caliber munitions. "PT Pindad is ready to meet the needs of the TNI in the field of 120 mm Leopard Tank munitions where PT Pindad transfers the product manufacturing from Nexter, France. In the future, PT Pindad also hopes to fulfill the needs of the 120 mm munitions production line for the Leopard Tank manufacturer, which is a holding company with Nexter." Abraham Mose explained.
