Directorate General of Sea Transportation KPLP visit Pindad regarding weapons contract cooperation

Chief Commercial Officer of PT Pindad, Atih Nurhayati welcomed a visit from the Sea and Coast Guard Unit (KPLP) group of the Directorate General of Sea Transportation led by the Director of KPLP, Rivolindo and his staff on Friday, May 26^th 2023 at the Auditorium PT Pindad, Bandung.

The purpose of this visit is in the framework of Procurement, Licensing, and Distribution of Firearms and Ammunition for the 2023 Fiscal Year within the KPLP to support the tasks of supervision, guarding and as a supporting infrastructure tool onboard State patrol boats in carrying out law enforcement at sea and in the Port area.

Chief Commercial Officer of PT Pindad, Atih Nurhayati expressed her appreciation and gratitude for the willingness and time to visit PT Pindad to the KPLP staff.

 "PT Pindad has the ability to produce and develop security and defense products such as weapons, combat vehicles and ammunition as well as industrial products such as heavy equipment, transportation infrastructure and agricultural equipment. PT Pindad is also one of the companies incorporated in the Defense Industry Holding, DEFEND ID. We hope that today's collaboration will produce results that are beneficial to the needs and security of the country," explained Atih Nurhayati.

The Director of KPLP, Rivolindo in his speech expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome that had been given by PT Pindad.

"Our visit here is to follow up on the cooperative relationship that has existed so far between PT Pindad and KPLP regarding the procurement of firearms within KPLP. It is also possible that if PT Pindad produces other products that can support KPLP's tasks, of course we will work together in the future as well," Rivolindo said.

The types of weapons that will be used by KPLP include the long-barreled firearm SB2-V2 caliber 5.56x44 mm and also P3A pistols with a special caliber of 7.65 x 17 mm. The SB2-V2 is PT Pindad's long-barreled rifle product, the development of the SS (Assault Rifle) product with a caliber of 5.56 x 44 mm / .222” and a magazine capacity of 30 rounds. Dimensionally, the SB2-V2 has an overall length of 930 mm with a barrel length of 403 mm and weighs approximately 4.2 kg. In terms of specifications, the SB2-V2 has a gas operated working system with a single firing mode and has a safety mode via the fire control lever. The SB2-V2 uses a mechanical aiming device, namely sights and a deterrent as well as the ability to shoot effectively at a distance of 300 meters.

Next is the P3A pistol, a light weight pistol type weapon with a special caliber of 7.65 x 17 mm. Minimalist in design, the P3A is the smallest variant of PT Pindad's pistol products and has the advantage of being compact in size. Dimensionally, the P3A is 180 mm long with a barrel length of 102 mm and weighs 0.8 kg. This gun is easy to carry and can be hidden in the user's body without limiting movement space, so it is very effective for self-defense, close combat to special operations. Specifically, the P3A has a double action trigger system with a magazine capacity of 10 bullets and an effective firing range of 15 meters.
