Governor of West Java Review Pindad’s Ventilator

President Director of PT Pindad (Persero) Abraham Mose along with the Director of Technology and Development Ade Bagdja welcomed a working visit from the Governor of West Java, Ridwan Kamil at Pindad Bandung office on Friday, April 24, 2020. Work visit in order to review Pindad ventilator and other preventing products to combat Covid-19. From several products of PT Pindad (Persero), Rodan Kamil gave special attention to Pindad VRM (Ventilator Resuscitator Manual).

Abraham Mose explains the progress of the VRM ventilator which is currently in the certification stage of eligibility and future production plans.

"The prototype (ventilator) has been tested in collaboration with Pindad hospital doctors and is in the process of certifying eligibility at the Health Facilities Safety Center (BPFK) Ministry of Health. Basically, Pindad is ready to support and produce ventilator needs in West Java and national scope. Going forward, PT Pindad will carry out Pindad VRM production with a production plan of 40 units / day. " said Abraham.

Pindad also collaborates with other agencies and universities to develop and produce other variant ventilators, one of the products is Covent-20, an emergency ventilator and transportation in collaboration with the University of Indonesia.

The Governor of West Java appreciates and supports the steps of PT Pindad (Persero) which actively contribute to block the spread of the Covid-19 virus. Ridwan Kamil reviewed in detail about the ventilator operation process and revealed that he would buy PT Pindad's products and hoped that the Pindad VRM ventilator would immediately got eligibility certification from the Ministry of Health BPFK.

The Director of Technology and Development of PT Pindad (Persero), Ade Bagdja explained that the Covid -19 countermeasures products produced by Pindad was not only ventilators but one package with other products.

"Pindad prepares products for Covid-19 prevention in one package, not only ventilators, but also PPE, spray canons, disinfectant chambers, etc. The spray canons consist of 3 variants, small ones can enter the gangs in the city, the medium size an enter the housing complex, and large size can be used on the roadway," said Ade Bagdja.

The Mobile Sterilization Chamber Covid-19 is another product from Pindad, a sterilization chamber that spray disinfectant vapors to sterilize the body from viruses and bacteria. Following WHO's recommendations, the disinfectant liquid used by Pindad is made from environmentally friendly materials and does not contain harmful substances, non-alcoholic so it is safe for the human body. In addition, Pindad also provides Disinfectant Fluids that have received permission from WHO as well as PPE medical equipment complete with face shield helmets and goggles.
