Indonesia Became an Overall Winner of 2014 AARM

After succesfully won the 2013 Asean Armies Rifle Meet (AARM) last year, Indonesian Army was succesfully winning the overall winner title of 2014 AARM which held at Vietnam. On the event which held from November 11th-28th 2014, Indonesia that consisted of 60 personnel of Indonesian Army victoriuously achieved the most medals, defeating other Southeast Asia countries. This achievement was encouraging because these shooters was using PT Pindad (Persero)s weapon and ammunition products.

The participants were participated on some type of competitions such as rifle, carabine, pistol man, pistol ladies, and automatic rifle. Indonesia contingent were dominated all the competition types and collecting 29 gold medals, 13 silver medals, 11 bronze medals, and 9 trophies and also succesfully labeled as the overall winner which have been succesfully achieved since 2008. We are dominating the competition, since 2008. From 45 gold medals, we are able to achieve 29 gold medals and from 15 trophies, we achieved 9 thropies, said the Major Infantry Faizal Izudin, leader of Indonesia contingent during the competition in Vietnam.

The more encouraging thing is, for the rifle competition, Indonesia contingent was using rifle which produced by PT Pindad (Persero). Some assault rifle i.e. SS2-V1 and SS2-HB (Heavy Barrel) were used by the shooters with special specification on its barrel which had bigger diameter and also heavier to reduce the recoil and more precision barrel groove which could produce an accurate shoots. Beside the rifle products, Pindads ammunition products were also used to complement the weaponry products during the competition. The ammunition has various caliber; MU5-HPBT A1 and MU5-HPBT A2 for 5.56mm caliber, MU2-TJF for 7.62mm caliber, and MU1-JHP A1 and MU1-JHP for 9mm caliber.

AARM was participated by 10 countries such as Indonesia, Thailand, Philiphine, Brunei Darussalam, Vietnam, Singapore, Myanmar, Malaysia, Cambodia, and Laos. This achievement was established Indonesian position as a respected country with many proud achievements on shooting competitions with national developed weapon with high quality and accuracy. Before, Indonesia was also succesfully achieved the overall winner title on 2014 Australian Army Skills at Arms Meeting (AASAM) which held last May and participated by 16 countries all over the world including United States and UK.
