Exporing Potentian Cooperation, Vice President of Zimbabwe Review Production Facilities of PT Pindad
Bandung - The Vice President and Minister of Health and Child Protection of the Republic of Zimbabwe, H.E Constantino Chiwenga was accompanied by the Ambassador of the Republic of Zimbabwe to Indonesia H.E S. Nyamudeza, Minister of Land, Agriculture, Fisheries, Water & Human Settlements, Zimbabwe Hon. J. Masuka, Indonesian Ambassador to the Republic of Zimbabwe Y.M. Dewa Made Juniarta Sastrawan and the Zimbabwean delegation visited PT Pindad's head office on Friday, May 20, 2022. The group was received by the CEO of PT Pindad, Abraham Mose and the Board of Directors in the Pindad Auditorium Bandung.
Previously in a courtesy call session at the Indonesian Vice President's Palace on Tuesday, May 17, 2022, the Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia KH Ma'ruf Amin said that the economic welfare of both parties could be improved through the potential for cooperation. In the strategic sector itself, Indonesia has the ability to produce defense equipment and non-military products from PT Pindad to support the modernization of the Zimbabwean military.
At his meeting with Indonesian Vice President KH Ma'ruf Amin, Vice President of Zimbabwe Constantino Chiwenga also conveyed that the purpose of his visit to PT Pindad was to see the potential for cooperation that could be carried out by the two countries. According to him, this cooperation can later be enhanced through exchanges, visits, including defense industry training.
CEO of PT Pindad, Abraham Mose appreciated and thanked the Vice President of Zimbabwe and the delegation for visiting. Abraham then introduced a brief profile of Pindad and hoped that through a bilateral meeting with PT Pindad, real cooperation in the future, especially in the field of defense and industry.
“It is an honor and pride for PT Pindad to be visited by the Vice President of Zimbabwe and the Delegation. We hope that through this meeting in the future, better cooperation can be established between the Republic of Indonesia and the Republic of Zimbabwe, especially in the field of defense & security and industrial products. PT Pindad has various superior products ranging from defense products including weapons, ammunition, Special Vehicles to industrial or non-military products such as heavy excavators, ship cranes, railroad hooks to tractor agricultural machinery.
In this occasion, the Vice President of the Republic of Zimbabwe expressed his gratitude and appreciation for Pindad's acceptance of his visit this time. Constantino Chiwenga said that this meeting was expected to be the beginning of a beneficial formation between Pindad and Zimbabwe in the defense sector and to help support the country's development.
“I am pleased that our two Governments have established a framework for cooperation in the defense sector. They have agreed to make reciprocal visits between high-ranking officials and cooperate in the defense industry and other areas that can be mutually agreed upon. It is with this background that we chose to visit PT Pindad and see what potential can be collaborated. From what Pindad has shown us today, there is potential to cooperate with Pindad especially in the production of weapons, various military devices, armored vehicles and other military equipment.”
The Vice President of the Republic of Zimbabwe and his entourage continued their activities by carrying out a plant tour to the production facilities and reviewing various special vehicle products made by Pindad. The group then witnessed a special vehicle defile, including various variants of Anoa, Badak, Komodo, Harimau Medium Tank, Maung Tactical Vehicle, Water Cannon and Pindad's newest electric motorcycle, MotoEV.
In addition, the weapons made by Pindad that were also displayed included various variants of assault rifles, various SPR variants, G2 variant pistols, various Armo pistols, MAG 4 pistols, various variants of machine guns, mortars and the latest weapon innovations such as the SS Amphibious and SS Blackout V1.
In addition, the Vice President of Zimbabwe reviewed various agricultural machinery such as PTR of all types, cropping rotation, 4-wheel tractor of all types and combine harvester.
Many achievements have been made by Pindad's flagship products. Among them the Pindad weapons and ammunition used by the TNI shooter contingent won various international shooting competitions such as AASAM, AARM and BISAM. Meanwhile, the performance of Pindad Special Function Vehicles such as the Anoa 6x6 and Komodo 4x4 has proven its quality and durability because it has been used to support TNI missions not only at home but also abroad (UN Peace Keeping) in various parts of the world such as Lebanon, Congo, Central Africa. , and Sudan.
Meanwhile, through industrial products, Pindad's Excava 200 is now available in various variants according to the functions and needs of the field. Pindad has also produced various agricultural machine tools, various transportation infrastructures to mining services. Through its partnership, Pindad has also succeeded in producing an environmentally friendly smokeless waste burning machine called Stungta x Pindad, which is currently in demand to address the growing medical waste problem amid the Covid-19 pandemic. In supporting the handling of Covid-19, Pindad also through its subsidiaries has innovated to create various types of ventilators.
