Australian Military Delegation Learned Pindad Production Technology

Assistant Director of Export of PT Pindad (Persero), Hery Mochtady received a visit from the Australian Military Delegation led by Let. Col. Thomas Dowsett in the Directorate Room Meeting Room of PT Pindad Bandung Headquarters (1/11). During this visit, the Australian Military Delegation consisted of:
WCGR Alexander McCreath, CAPT Mark Montague, CAPT William Taylor, LCDR Alex Binns, LCDR David Clarkson, LCDR Alastair Walsh, MAJ Alastair Hee, MAJ Arlo Meany, MAJ Edith Santosa, and WOI Brook Buchan. The Australian Military Delegation was also accompanied by Colonel S. Iskandar Hardoyo, Major Edith Purnama and Mrs. Evi Savitri.

The purpose of this visit is aimed as a comparative study of defense industry and defense equipment technology in Indonesia. In addition, the visit was intended to see first hand the production facilities and competencies of PT Pindad (Persero) in producing quality defense equipment products including to discuss technology and production management.

Hery Mochtady expressed his pride towards the visit by the Australian Military Delegation. Thomas Dowsett also expressed his appreciation for the speech of PT Pindad (Persero) and was interested in various PT Pindad products. In his remarks, Hery Mochtady also gave exposure to PT Pindad (Persero) 's innovative products such as Medium Tanks, Various Armored Vehicle variants, such as Anoa, Komodo and Badak. He also explained various weapons products such as SS2 and industrial products such as excavators and cast-forgings.

There was an interesting discussion, because the Australian Military Delegation wanted to know more about production facilities and production management in Pindad. In addition, the Australian Military Delegation also wanted to find out how Pindad could have the competence and technology for the production and maintenance of various defense equipment products and meet the needs of the Indonesian military.

After an interesting discussion, as well as an explanation of the profile and various products of PT Pindad (Persero), the Australian Military Delegation Group conducted a plant tour to see directly the process of production of defense and industrial products. The Australian Military Delegation looked enthusiastic when visiting special vehicle production facilities, especially when viewing the Harimau Medium Tank.
