Working Visit to the Munitions Division, Board of Commissioners of Pindad Appreciated Pindad Perform

The Board of Commissioners of PT Pindad (Persero) appreciates the performance of all elements of Pindad because it has worked optimally, including one of the Pindad munitions divisions which is increasing production capacity by adding the New Munisi Production Facility.

This was stated during a working visit of the Board of Commissioners of PT Pindad led by Deputy Commissioner, Sumardi to the production facilities at the Munitions Division, in Turen, Malang, Saturday (10/08/2019). The working visit was accompanied by the Director of the Business of Defense and Security Products Heru Puryanto, and the General Manager of the Munitions Division, Budhiarto. This visit was also a moment to introduce the newly joined Pindad commissioner, Maj. Gen. Endang Sodik.

The Deputy Chief Commissioner expressed optimism that Pindad would continue to grow, be on a positive trend and continue to climb in business. He conveyed specifically the Munitions to be able to immediately realize an increase in the production of munitions especially small munitions in early 2020.

"I am optimistic because in this munitions division we support, and all new equipment is added, I believe Pindad continues to develop positively, especially Pindad Bandung has signed Medium Tank and Cobra contracts," he said. Sumardi said that along with the development of production lines and businesses, it was necessary to prepare good human resources in order to create a balanced company.

In line with the Deputy President Commissioner, another member of the commissioners, Nurdin said from the aspect of financial statements within the period of three years 2016-2018 Pindad's financial performance continued to rise, especially in the last two years.

"Pindad's performance continues to rise, especially these 2 years is quite significant, of course, appreciation to friends in the munitions division who contributed 25 percent", he said.

Nurdin reminded that Pindad must always keep a close watch on revenue, sales and recognition. Not only that from the production line must maintain good communication so that communication barriers on the production line can be overcome.

Meanwhile, the Director of the Defense and Security Products Business, Heru Puryanto, said that until now Pindad continues to invest both independently and with the support of the State Capital Participation (PMN) scheme.

"Of the 700 PMN pillars received by Pindad of around 400 billion for the munitions division, it is expected that from the current production capacity of around 160 million items will touch the targeted figures," Heru said

Heru continued, with a sales target of 1.2 trillion rupiah with new investment and PMN funds could reach 250 million per year, of course it is hoped that in the future it can encourage pindad to be able to provide sales figures that can be far greater, of course this will support the development of Pindad going forward. The Board of Commissioners' working visit was ended by visiting Pindad's production lines and development areas and conducting field checks directly on the newly constructed facilities and infrastructure projects.
