Pangdam III/Siliwangi Visit to PT Pindad (Persero)

Thursday, March 19^th 2015, PT Pindad (Persero) was visited by a special guest. Panglima Daerah Militer (Chief of Siliwangi Regional Military Command) or Pangda) III/Siliwangi, Major General Deddy Kusnadi Thamim visited PT Pindad (Persero). The delegation accepted by PT Pindad (Persero)s CEO Silmy Karim at Auditorium of PT Pindads Directorate Building. Also attended this event were the Board of Director, to managements, and related staffs of PT Pindad (Persero).

To Pangdam III/Siliwangi, Silmy Karim explained some updates relate to defence and security products that already and would be produced such as weapon, ammunitions, and special vehicle. Currently, PT Pindad is executing few things such as big caliber ammunition, joint production finalization for stage 3 of 6x6 Anoa amphibious combat vehicle, repairmen and improvement some of weapon products, continuing the defence rocket project, and cooperation about medium tank 105mm with Turkey, said Silmy.

All of those executions, according to Silmy, was PT Pindad (Persero)s efforts toward defence industry self-reliance. Pindad will complete as a whole what kind of equipments that needed by land sector, in order to achieve defence industry self reliance that stated on Defence Industry Law Number 16 year 2012.

Deddy Kusnadi Thamim as a Chief who in charge for area where Pindad operated, admitted that he always proud of PT Pindad (Persero) that successfully produced high quality defence and security products. Pindad has been able to prove could produce weapon with a tested quality by supporting Indonesian shooter team to be able winning an international shoot competition. Pindad is also capavle to produce combat vehicle products and make us on a same level with countries that already ahead in term of technology, said Deddy.

Related to big caliber ammunition, Deddy showed his admiration about testing result in Lumajang which was very satisfying and hoped export opportunity could be obtained by PT Pindad (Persero). The big caliber ammunition has a satisfying result in Lumajang. Hopefully cane be increased so that other countries will be interested and create an export opportunities for Pindads leading products, he added.

On this event, Pangdam III/Siliwangi was also ask  Pindads help to support the security effort for Asia-Africa Conference which would be held on April 25^th, 2015. PT Pindad would be contributed by providing 26 units of 6x6 Anoa Combat Vehicle to help secure the event. Closing his speech, Pangdam III/Siliwangi said that he always open for future cooperation, gave input to each other, for national defence industry advancement.
