Beginning Step of Indonesia-Brunei Defence Industry Cooperation
Brunei Darussalam Crown Prince, Duli Yang Teramat Mulia Paduka Seri Pengiran Muda Mahkota Jenderal Pengiran Muda Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah Ibni Kebawah Duli Yang Maha Mulia Paduka Seri Baginda Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Muizzadin Waddaulah was visited PT Pindad (Persero)s production facilities on Tuesday, May 6th, 2014. He was accepted by Indonesia Vice Minister of Defence Sjafrie Samsoedin, Board of Commissioner, and Board of Directors of PT Pindad (Persero) at 2nd Production Department Assembling Building of Special Vehicle Division.
Brunei Darussalam Crown Prince visit to PT PIndad (Persero) was the only visit to defence industry fabrication after previously having appointed as the Honorary Citizen of Korps Pasukan Khusus (Special Forces Command) of Koppasus, visited Badan Nasional Penanggulangan Bencana (Indonesian National Board for Disaster Management) or BNPB, did a cordial visit with President of Republic of Indonesia Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, and honor Beret and Brevet awarding from Marine Corps of Indonesian Navy.
Brunei Darussalam Crown Prince was visited PT Pindad (Persero) in order to observe the companys production facilities as the follow up of Brunei Darussalam interest toward PT Pindads weaponry system product such as weapon and special vehicle products. During his visit, the Crown Prince had asked some questions related to PT Pindad (Persero) production capability and the cooperation that formed between PT Pindad (Persero) and other countries.
Afterward, the Crown Prince was got an explanation about some of special vehicle products specification from PT Pindad (Persero) President Director Tri Hardjono and tested the performance of Armored 4x4 Tactical Vehicle by driving that vehicle around PT Pindad (Persero) area. While at Weapon Division, PT Pindad (Persero) Director of Weapon System Ade Bagdja, was explained about some weapon products that were displayed on the static display and accompanied the Crown Prince when he tried to shoot using Assault Rifle SS2-V5.
Indonesia and Brunei Darussalam are neighboring countries that have a good relationship for years, of course the good cooperation was expected to be formed soon between the two countries. Hopefully, Crown Princes interests towards PT Pindad weaponry system products could bring good news that the cooperation between Indonesia and Brunei would soon be opened and realized. (Anggia)
