Garuda Indonesia Worker Union Visit to PT Pindad (Persero)

Members of Worker Union of PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) were visited PT Pindad (Persero) on Friday, February 6th, 2015. The delegation was accepted by Vice President of Human Capital and Organization Development, Irfanul Kamal at Auditorium Directorate Building of PT Pindad (Persero).

This visit is a part of National Working Meeting of Garuda Indonesia Worker Union which has been carried out since Wednesday at Bandung, said Ahmad Irfan, who led the delegation of Garuda Indonesia Worker Union. We hope this visit could build a proper communication with Pindads worker union and give contribution for SOEs worker in Pindad and Garuda Indonesia, he added. Afterward, he was explained briefly how worker union in Garuda Indonesia was divided into three, i.e. worker union for employee, cabin crew, and pilot. To connect the companys internal problem, these three worker unions were united, but for profession problem, they were working separately.

Irfanul Kamal, Vice President of Human Capital and Organization Development said that this visit was such an honor for Pindad and could become a sharing event for the two SOEs companies. We feel that its an honour to be visited by Garuda Indonesia Worker Union. On this opportunity, we can meet and talk about workers union with PT Pindad. He was also said that the visit could also be a comparative study for Garuda Indonesia in the world of worker unions, The number of worker unions in Garuda Indonesia and Pindad are both numbered three, it would be an interesting study because the characteristics and system are quite similar.

Irfanul Kamal, also explained how the three worker unions in PT Pindad (Persero) which consists of Serikat Pekerja Pindad (SPP), Serikat Pekerja PT Pindad (SP Pindad), and Serikat Karyawan Pindad (Sepakad) were formed.  He also explained the employees payroll system, a number of regulations that should complied by each employees of PT Pindad (Persero), systems which was related to staffing, and also how worker unions in PT Pindad (Persero) connect the employees aspiration to be delivered to the companys top management.

After discussion session completed, the delegation were continue that days activity by visiting production facilities of 6x6 Armored Vehicle and 4x4 Tactical Vehicle assembling in Special Vehicles Division. The delegation was also had the opportunity to ride on one of PT Pindad (Persero)s product, Anoa 6x6 Armored Vehicle. (Anggia)
