Wakasad Visit to PT Pindad (Persero)

Wakil Kepala Staf Angkatan Darat (Vice of Army Chief of Staff) or Wakasad, Lieutenant General Muhammad Munir visited PT Pindad (Persero) on Wednesday, June 26^th 2013. He accompanied by Asisten Logistik Kepala Staf Angkatan Darat (Logistic Asistant of Army Chief of Staff) or Aslog Major General P. Prasetyanto, Asisten Perencana Kepala Staf Angkatan Darat (Planning Assistant of of Army Chief of Staff) or Asrena Kasad Major General Muktiyanto, Direktur Zeni Angkatan Darat (Director of Zeni of Indonesian Army) or Dirziad Brigade General Juwondo, and Direktur Peralatan Angkatan Darat (Director of Indonesian Army Equipment) or Dirpalad, Brigade General I Wayan Cager. The group accepted by Director of Manufacturing Product, Tri Hardjono and the high level officials at Auditorium Directorate Building.  

This visit of Wakasad carried out in conjunction with Rabinniscab which is still ongoing until June 28^th 2013 and also represents the Army Chief of Staff who unable to attend because he had another job with the President to extinguish the forest fire at Riau. Furthermore, he also wanted to discuss about some ongoing contracts between PT Pindad and Ministry of Defence.

Wakasad also said that with a big amount of budget allocation to build weaponry system products, PT Pindad was one of the hope for achieving the independency of weaponry system products. Because, if the independency still has not been reached, the defence industry will keep depending at foreign industry with a high social cost. Therefore, Wakasad hoped that PT Pindad could keep going forward, could reach the independency, and able to complete anything that is still lacking.

After the event at the auditorium ended, Wakasad and the group continued their visit at PT Pindad by visiting the production facilities at Special Vehicle Division. There, the group reviewed the production process of some special vehicle products such as Anoa Panser, Komodo Tactical Vehicle, and AMX-13 project that is still in working process.  

They also visited the Medium Girder Bridge (MGB) which is the contract between Pindad and Dirziad and cooperating with WFEL from United Kingdom. The MGB Project which is the tactical military bridge took place at Pindad for the assembling process practice along with dozens of Combat Zeni personnel on last May.

The visit to production facilities been a closing for the Wakasad visit agenda at PT Pindad. Hopefully, Wakasad hope for PT Pindad to be a weaponry system independency could be reached. (Anggia)
