Arena Where the Stars Compete Their Shooting Ability

PT Pindad (Persero)s shooting field was star-studded on Thursday, September 25^th 2014. The Perwira Tinggi (High Officers) and Perwira Menengah (Secondary Officers) of TNI/Polri from Komando Garnisun Tetap II Bandung and Cimahi were competed their shooting ability by using handgun that produced by PT Pindad (Persero). The exclusive shooting competition was conducted in order to celebrate the 69^th Tentara Nasional (Indonesian National Armed Forces) Day, and attended by Chief Operating Officer of Industrial Products Wahyu Utomo, Commander of Sekolah Staf serta Komando Tentara Nasional Indonesia (Command and Staff College of Indonesian National Armed Forces) or Dansesko TNI Lieutenant General Sonny Widjaja,  Commander of Komando Pembina Doktrin, Pendidikan dan Latihan Tentara Nasional Indonesia Angkatan Darat (Doctrine, Education, and Training Founder Command of Indonesian Army) or Dankodiklat TNI AD  Lieutenant General Lodewijk Freidrich Paulus, and Panglima Daerah Militer III/Siliwangi (Commander of Siliwangi Army Territorial Command) or Pangdam III/Siliwangi Major General Dedy Kusnadi Tamim.

This event was opened by opening speech from Commander of 2^nd Garrison Bandung and Cimahi as well as Pangdam III/Siliwangi, Major General Dedy Kusnadi Tamim. This event is routinely conducted as one event to connect our relationship that often interrupted because the task. This event is also a test to a practice result which had done so far, he said. Furthermore, he was also added that shooting is a core ability that should be owned by the soldiers. Shooting is one skill that should be owned and controlled by every soldier, no exception for the high and secondary officers whom faced to routine daily work at their own office, he added.  

Chief Operating Officer of Industrial Products, Wahyu Utomo said that Pindad was honored to be chosen to hold this shooting competition, Is an honored and pride for us that PT Pindad has been chosen as the place for this executive shooting competition. In addition, he was also stated the readiness of Pindad to support Indonesian National Armed Forces performance and to fulfill the Minimum Essential Force for the defense and security products. Pindad as the State Owned Enterprise for defense industry will always support the government and Indonesian National Armed Forces program in MEF accomplishment to produce other weapons that needed, he added.

The executive shooting competition was participated by 50 high and secondary officers of Indonesian National Armed Forces and National Indonesian Police that consist of 27 high officers and 23 secondary officers using one handgun product of PT Pindad (Persero), the G2 pistol with Combat and Elite variant. Each participant was given 23 rounds bullet with 9 mm caliber; 3 rounds for correction shoot, 10 rounds for slow fire within 3 minutes, and 10 rounds for rapid fire within 63 seconds with the target were lesan viewfinder and falling plat.

In addition, to introduce brand and weaponery products of PT Pindad (Persero), were displayed some leading defense and security products such as rifle, handgun, sniper, sub machine gun, and mortar, and also some special vehicle products such as Anoa 6x6 Combat Vehicle, retrofitted AMX-13, and Komodo 4x4 Tactical Vehicle. Hopefully, this shooting competition could be kind of proof that PT Pindad (Persero) weapon products have a great quality and also accurate. Beside, this event was also hoped could connect the relationship between PT Pindad (Persero) and two main customers, Indonesian National Armed Forces and Indonesian National Police. (Anggia)
