Indonesian Defense Minister Witnesses the Signing of Joint Defense Equipment Procurement and Constr

RI Minister of Defense, Ryamizard Ryacudu witnessed the signing of the defense equipment procurement and construction contract in the Ministry of Defense / Indonesian Natioanl Armed Forces (TNI) between the Ministry of Defense and State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) and private goods / service providers on Friday, April 12th, 2019 at Grha Pindad Bandung. 

The event was attended by Deputy Chief of Staff of Indonesian National Army (TNI AD) Lieutenant General Tatang Sulaiman, South Korea's Minister of DAPA (Defense Acquisition Program Administration), Wang Jong Hong and officials in the TNI, Ministry of Defense and SOEs of Strategic and Private Industry. The SOEs of Strategic Industries that are signing contracts with the Ministry of Defense are Pindad, PAL, LEN and Dahana. Pindad products that are on contract are Combat Vehicles (Ranpur) Infantry, Cavalry, Infantry Jatri and Small Caliber Munitions (MKK). 

"This commitment will also make us work more professionally and openly towards a common goal to realize the independence of the national defense industry with international standards, advanced quality, modern and gain high competitiveness. I am sure that with the presence of high-performance BUMNIS and BUMS from the aspect of technological innovation, our efforts to build the independence of the defense industry mandated by Law 16 of 2012 can be achieved. This certainly requires a strong commitment from all parties, "Ryamizard said.

Meanwhile, President Director of Pindad, Abraham Mose in his speech appreciated the trust and full support of the Ministry of Defense for the domestic defense industry. "This is the biggest and fastest signing event this year conducted by the Ministry of Defense and the defense industries. I appreciated the hard work the Ministry of Defense that has accelerated the process. "The signing of the contract today has a total value of 1.4 billion USD and 2.1 trillion rupiahs, this is a real form of full support from the government, in this case is the Ministry of Defense for our defense industry," Abraham said. 

The signing of the contract is part of the efforts made by the Ministry of Defense, as a form of commitment from the government in building a strong and high defense ability, as well as the seriousness of the government to promote defense equipment independence through the active involvement in domestic defense industry. Through the signing of these contracts, the entire construction process is expected to run smoothly in accordance with the specified volume and time and can be provided to improve our TNI defense facilities.
