Minister of Transportation Review the Signaling Works conducted by PGST, Pindad Subsidiary
The Indonesian Minister of Transportation, Budi Karya Sumadi, reviewed the progress of signaling work at Citeras-Maja Station, Banten, which was carried out by Pindad Global Sources & Trading (PGST), a subsidiary of PT Pindad (Persero) on Sunday, November 18, 2018. Pindad CEO Abraham Mose and PGST CEO, Wahyu Sofiadi also attended to accompany and explain to the Minister during the visit.
The work carried out by PGST is to replace and develop a railway signaling system from a single track to a double track or double track at Maja, Citeras and Rangkasbitung Stations. The job is to replace the interlocking system and install signaling devices such as point machines, signal aspects, and axle counter systems both for indoor and outdoor.
The Working Visit of the Minister of Transportation in the context of reviewing railway infrastructure and labor-intensive activities at Citeras-Maja station, including signaling work therein. The PGST work reviewed by the Minister of Transportation includes the operating system in the PPKA space and the interlocking system equipment located in the Equipment room.
The Minister of Transportation said the construction of the double track or double track Maja - Rangkasbitung Station would increase the frequency of trips and KRL transport capacity twice.
"This double track brings benefits, namely increasing capacity and KRL trips to double, from 32 trips to up to 64 PP trips," said Budi Karya.
By system, the work carried out by the PGST is ready in Switch Over (SO), meaning that the new system is functioning as a train operation pattern.
