"PROPER HIJAU" Award for PT Pindad (Persero)

Ministry of The Environment had been announced the result of Program Penilaian Peringkat Kinerja Perusahaan dalam Pengelolaan Lingkungan (Company Performance and Environment Management Grade Appraisal) or PROPER for 2012-2013 period. The appraisal result was announced on 2012-2013 PROPER awarding night at Grand Ballroom ShangriLa Hotel, Jakarta. PT Pindad (Persero) was successfully obtained the PROPER HIJAU (GREEN PROPER) for PT Pindad (Persero) that located at Bandung and BLUE PROPER (PROPER BIRU) for PT Pindad (Persero) that located at Turen, Malang. Those awards were given by Ministry of The Environment, Prof. Dr. Balthasar Kambu and accepted by Director of Administration and Finance of PT Pindad (Persero), Rita Widayati.

On previous 2012 PROPER award, PT Pindad (Persero) Bandung and Turen were successfully obtained the BLUE PROPER award. This year’s GREEN PROPER award that accepted by PT Pindad (Persero) Bandung was an improvement from last year’s achievements, so that PT Pindad (Persero) Bandung successfully reached the beyond compliance level. For PT Pindad (Persero) Turen, the achievement was unchanged compared to last year, but still a good achievement for environment management field, there.

Generally, the PROPER grade was divided into five different colors: Gold, Green, Blue, Red, and Black. The criteria of obedience towards environment regulation started from ‘no effort’, ‘yet obedient’, and ‘obedient’ consecutively were Black, Red, and Blue, while the criteria of obedience towards environment regulation that beyond compliance were Green and Gold. Especially for Green and Gold appraisal, was introduced the performance screening based on a Dokumen Ringkasan Kinerja Pengelolaan Lingkungan (Summary Document of the Environmental Management Performance).

The PROPER appraisal was done towards 1.812 companies which covering manufacture, mining, energy and oil and gas, agro industry, and region and services sectors. The appraisal result for the 2012 – 2013 period, as follows: Gold Rank amounted to 12 companies (0, 67%), Green Rank amounted to 113 companies (6, 31%), Blue Rank amounted to 1039 companies (57, 98%) , Red Rank amounted to 61
