Mother's Day in Indonesia is celebrated every December 22nd based on the Third Indonesian Women's Congress which took place from 22nd to 27th July 1938 in Bandung. The date was chosen to perpetuate the history that the unity of the Indonesian women's movement began on December 22nd, 1928. Every year, a memorial commemoration was held to live up this historic event. President Soekarno then issued a presidential decree to establish support for the Third Women's Congress. Through Presidential Decree 316/1959, Mother's Day officially became a National Day.
The establishment was adjusted to the fact that Mother's Day was essentially a milestone in the struggle of women as part of the nation's struggle which has started with the Youth Pledge of 1928.
Although engaged in the defense industry, Pindad also has female employees as mothers who contribute in advancing the company. Happy Mother's Day everyone.
