Pindad Awarded an Appreciation of 1.25 Billion to The Contingent of TNI AD for AASAM 2019
The contingent of the Indonesian National Army (TNI AD) won for the 12th consecutive win in an international shooting competition at the Australian Army Skill at Arms Meeting (AASAM) which held on March 26th to April 2nd, 2019 in Puckapunyal Military Range, Australia. Pindad awarded an appreciation of 1.25 billion rupiahs to the contingent for their outstanding achievements in maintaining the AASAM champion achievement on July 23rd, 2019 at the Indonesian National Army Headquarters (MABESAD), Jakarta.
The event was attended by the Chief of Staff of Indonesian Army (KASAD), General Andika Perkasa, Deputy Chief of Staff of Indonesian Army (WAKASAD), Lt. Gen. Tatang Sulaiman, the Directors and the Commissioners of Pindad.
General Andika Perkasa expressed his gratitude for the appreciation given by Pindad to the contingent.
"Thank you for the appreciation from Pindad for the contingent which had won the AASAM 2019," Andika said.
President Director of PT. Pindad (Persero), Abraham Mose, congratulated and highly appreciated the entire contingent of TNI AD for their proud achievements in maintaining the 2018 AASAM champion achievement using Pindad's organic weapons and munitions.
"This afternoon we awarded an appreciation from Pindad to the TNI AD Contingent for AASAM who had won the shooting championship for 12 consecutive times. First, this is certainly the pride of the Indonesian people for the Army. And the second of course is our gratitude for the achievement, especially from Pindad, so today we give an appreciation to the Contingent, "Abraham said.
Pindad hopes that the contingent of TNI AD will continue to maintain the achievements and expect to gain any inputs, advices and supports from the Army in order to continue improving the quality of Pindad's products.
"We, from Pindad, have a big hope that the achievement will be maintained, keep practicing to maintain the champions title because this is the pride of all the people of Indonesia, and especially the pride for Pindad. Furthermore, of course this sense of pride continues to drive our commitment to provide support, input, correction, suggestions or anything else for us to improve ourselves, especially for the products from Pindad, "continued Abraham.
Indonesia won the AASAM championship for 12 consecutive times since 2008. More proudly, Indonesian shooters won the championship by using Pindad products, domestically made, namely SS2-V2 Heavy Barrel Carbine assault rifle, Heavy Barrel SS4-V4 assault rifle and their munitions. This achievement proves that the quality of domestically-made weapons is capable to surpass the ability from any weapons made by other countries.
Indonesia won the AASAM shooting competition in 2019 after winning 21 gold, 14 silver and 10 bronze medals in various contested shooting competition materials. AASAM is a prestigious shooting competition between international Armies which this year was followed by 20 countries from the Asia-Pacific region and several countries from the Americas and Europe region such as the United States, Britain, France and the host country for 2019 contest, Australia.
