Pindad and STIK-PTIK Polri are in Cooperation in Education and Research
PT Pindad (Persero), as a national industry company, binds the cooperation in education and research by signing Memorandum of Understanding with Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Kepolisian (STIK PTIK Polri) on Wednesday, 15 April 2015. The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by Silmy Karim as CEO of PT Pindad (Persero) and Brigadier General of Police Slamet Ryanto, Vice Chairman of STIK PTIK, in Grha Pindad, Bandung.
STIK PTIK Polri admitted that the cooperation with PT Pindad (Persero) is a strategic step to enrich the knowledge of the students of the police academy. This cooperation will enrich the insight of the STIK students who are the future leader of Polri with intuitive attitude and full understanding regarding the defense industry, said Bigadier General SlametRyanto in his opening speech.
The collaboration between Pindad and STIK PTIK Polri will involve three different scope, education, research, and community service. Brigadier General SlametRyanto motivated the students to be able to observe several matters that they found in the field and analyze them to be a discussion in campus. Pindad has produced weapon as well as other defense and security appliances for TNI and Polri. The students have to observe the products made by Pindad and we will evaluate in campus whether some products will become handy to support Polri performance. We will adjust the society dynamics and the development of science and technology nowadays, Bigadier General Slamet Ryanto added.
Silmy Karim also underlined that the crucial role of police in Indonesia is one of the reason why the next generation of police need to have deeper insight about defense industry. The role of Police in this Republic country is crucial. As law enforcement, public protector, and those two are strategic role of police, the role that will color the future of Indonesia. Consequently, STIK students are the next generation of this country that required having deep insight about Pindad and also policies related to defense and security, CEO Silmy Karim added.
As he closed his opening speech, Silmy expressed his hope for national defense industry will be triumphed in the country. We have to be the one lest we would be the guest in our own country. This is a challenge for us all lest Indonesia would only bring prosperity to other countries, he said.
At the occasion, there were 150 students of STIK PTIK Polri who come to Pindad. The activity was ended with a tour to some production facilities in Pindad such as Weapon Division and Special Vehicle Division for the students to observe. (Anggia)
