Pindad Held Demonstrations of the latest optic sights and rifles

PT Pindad carried out a demonstration of an optical sight product in collaboration with South Korean company EOS-T on Friday, 06 January 2023 located at the PT Pindad shooting range, Bandung. The optical sight product that were tested consisted of the Red Dot Sight, Laser Aiming Device, Magnifier, and Sighting Telescope. The event was also attended by representatives from Infantry Armament Center (Pussenif), Kasad Asrena, Kasad Asops, Army Equipment Center (Puspalad), and Paban VI/Alpal Slogad.

A demo of the optical sight using several PT Pindad weapons products such as G2 Combat A1 Pistol, PC-816 V1 Assault Rifle, AM-1 Assault Rifle, SS2-V4 A1 Assault Rifle, SPM-1 DMR Advanced Rifle and SPR-3 Sniper Rifle. During this activity, PT Pindad also introduced its newes assault rifle products called AM-1 and PC-816.

AM-1 is a 5.56 x 45 mm NATO assault rifle with the working principle of Gas Operated & Piston. This rifle has a barrel length of 14.5 inches and is equipped with a telescopic (popor/butt) that can be stretched backwards (retracted). This assault rifle has a total length of 881 mm in fully extended stock condition and 797 mm in normal position stock condition. While the weight of the AM-1 rifle is 3.25 kg, it is relatively light and makes it easier for the user to mobilize and operate the weapon. In terms of design, AM-1 uses an aim lock on the hand guard for the application of accessories and additional optical devices. In addition, AM-1 has a vertical grip to make it easier for users to operate this assault rifle.

PC 815 V1 rifle has specifications that are not much different from AM-1 with a caliber of 5.56 x 45 mm NATO and also has a Gas Operated & Piston working principle. The shooting mode on this assault rifle consist of Semi and Auto with a weight of 3.3 kg. PC 816 V1 also has a magazine capacity of 30 bullets and has a total length of 802 mm in normal stock conditions and 887 mm in fully extended stick conditions. Equipped with a picatinny rail on the  handguard, PC 816 V1 makes it easy for users to apply various accessories and additional optical devices. For the standard version, PC 816 V1 applies the sights and mechanical triggers-flip up as an aiming devices.

During the product demonstration, PT Pindad also presented the DMR SPM-1 expert rifle product which was introduced to the President of the Republic of Indonesia at last Indo Defence 2022. This rifle uses a gas acting system with a caliber of 5.56 x 45 mm NATO and a barrel length of 500 mm. Unlike AM-1 and PC 816, the DMR SPM-1 has a longer size, which is 1026 mm when the stock is extended and 782 mm when the (popor) is folded and magazine capacity is 20 rounds. The weight of DMR SPM-1 is 4.91 kg when filled and 4.55 kg when empty. In terms of performance, the DMR SPM-1 is capable of firing 780 rounds per minute with an effective distance of 600 meters using optical devices and 400 meters using mechanical optical devices.

In this test, the G2 Combat Pistol was tested using Red Dot Sight optical device and a Laser Aiming Device with a distance of 25 M. The AM-1 was tested using the Red Dot  Sight optical device to test aiming and shooting accuracy at a distance of 50 M. Furthermore, SS2-V4 A1 was tested using the optical Red Dot Sight, Magnifier, and Laser Aiming Device at a distance at a distance of 50 M. Finally, the DMR SPM-1 and SPR-3 were tested using an Sighting Telescope with a distance of 300 M to see aiming accuracy and shoot at that range.
