Pindad Signed Strategic Cooperation with Barata and BBI

PT Pindad (Persero), PT Barata Indonesia (Persero) and PT Boma Bisma Indra (Persero) signed a strategic cooperation agreement on excavators and multipurpose tractors on Wednesday, September 11th, 2019 at PT Barata Indonesia's Heavy Machining Center Building, Gresik. President Director of PT. Pindad (Persero), Abraham Mose signed with PT Barata Indonesia's President Director Oksarlidady Arifin and PT Boma Bisma Indra President Director Yoyok Hadi. BUMN Minister, Rini Soemarno, Deputy BUMN for Mining, Strategic Industries and Media, Fajar Harry Sampurno and the Director of Industrial Products Business of PT. Pindad (Persero), Heri Heriswan also attended and witnessed the signing of the strategic cooperation agreement.

Rini expressed her pride in various BUMN synergies including the strategic cooperation signed today. By maintaining synergy, each BUMN can develop so that it can help the community become better and more comfortable. She then instructed to create an original Indonesian machine targeted at the end of 2023 to strengthen the national industry and reduce the number of imports.

The scope of the strategic cooperation includes production cooperation, marketing and sales activities, extended capacity and other cooperation agreed by each parties.

In this collaboration PT Pindad has the authority to produce 20 ton excavators which will be marketed by PT Barata Indonesia. Then, PT Barata Indonesia produced a 40hp multipurpose tractor and will be marketed by PT Pindad. Finally, PT Boma Bisma Indra provides diesel engines for excavators and multipurpose tractors to support production activities.

This collaboration aims to take advantage of the ability of each party to implement, develop, improve business fields and strive to increase the level of sales.

President Director of PT Barata Indonesia, Oksarlidady Arifin in his speech hoped that this strategic collaboration would provide great benefits for all parties. "With all the strategic cooperation agreements today, I would like to express my deepest gratitude. May our hard work add value to the national industry," said Oksarlidady.

Abraham Mose is optimistic that this strategic cooperation agreement can increase the Level of Domestic Components (TKDN) in the heavy equipment industry, but not limited to excavators and multipurpose tractors.

The collaboration has a positive impact on increasing production, expanding markets to increase the level of sales of each party with raw materials originating from within the country.

The BUMN and other corporations that signed the memorandum of understanding were PT KAI, PT Inka, PT LEN, PT Pelindo 3, PT Garam, PT Krakatau Steel (Persero), PT Inuki (Persero), PT Dahana (Persero), PT Bhanda Ghara Reksa ( Persero), PT KIMA (Makassar Industrial Zone), PT Pesonna Indonesia Jaya, PT Dok Shipping Surabaya, and PT Pelindo Marine Service.
