Pindad Participate at Habibie Festival 2016

As a defense company engaging in technology and product innovation, Pindad took part in Habibie Festival 2016. Commemorating the 80 years of dedication and commitment of B.J. Habibie to Indonesia’s science and technology, this event was hold at Museum Nasional Indonesia, Jakarta on 11 – 14 August 2016. Took place at the auditorium of Musem Nasional Indonesia, Ilham Habibie officially opened the event with the third President of Republic of Indonesia B.J. Habibie, CEO of Pindad Abraham Mose, and key figures in technology-intensive industry, along with invitees.

Ilham Habibie a the founder of Berkarya!Indonesia mentioned in his opening speech that civilizing and understanding of advanced technology are the keys to a brighter nation. “The main purpose of Habibie Festibal is to exhibit Habibie’s contribution in many aspects,” he says. Science, technology, and innovation are the main focus of this festival. Hence, Habibie Festival 2016 is expected to inform the latest development of science and technology to public be it done by organization, government, institution, corporation, or public. “Productivity improvement is only reached and owned if Indonesian human resource is renewable. Independent, free, but cultured. Having a highly qualified dignity, mastering science and technology, positively synergize and able to produce concrete works,” Habibie said. Habibie’s expectation is realized by Berkarya!Indonesia, a movement that enhance creativity, productivity, and value added of the nation through cultivation of technology and innovation.

It was an honor Pindad right after the opening ceremony, B.J. Habibie together with the entourage had the time to visit Pindad’s booth and took a look on the showcased products. Within the same occasion, B.J. Habibie also wrote down his hope to Pindad in the future. “Hopefully Pindad will always be in the front line. Developing and implementing latest technology in developing defense industry.”
Pindad which was incorporated in cluster of Strategic Industry on Habibie Festival 2016 displayed various weapon products, such as assault rifle SS1-V1, SS1 R5+SPG, SS2-V1, SS2-V2, SS2-V4 HB, SS2-V5 with silencer, SS2-V7, Pistol G2 Combat dan Elite, Sniper SPR-2, mockup of ammunitions various caliber, and the newest weapons, among others, Pistol G2 Premium, PM3, SS3 and SPR 3. In addition, Pindad also brought Anoa APC variant to be exhibited. Various achievements and also leadership of B.J. Habibie when he was the CEO of Pindad in 1983 – 1998 also displayed in Pindad’s booth. The enthusiasm of public for this event was recorded as the highest over the years of Museum Nasional Indonesia.
