Pindad Give Anoa Monument to Malang Citizens

In order to fill the 73rd Republic of Indonesia's Independence, PT Pindad (Persero) presented the 6 x 6 ANOA Panzer monument to the Malang City Government in the Taman Trunojoyo Area, Malang.

CEO PT Pindad (Persero) Abraham Mose symbolically handed over at the same time inaugurating the monument on Saturday 18 August 2018.

The establishment of Anoa armored monument for the production of the nation's children was to inspire people, especially the younger generation.

Abraham Mose said that the existence of Anoa Panzer is expected to be a pride in the work of the nation's children while at the same time beautifying Malang City and will become a new tourism icon.

"The establishment of the Anoa Panzer monument is expected to be a pride for the citizens of Malang, as well as being a tourism icon," Abraham said.

Malang was chosen as one of the cities that became the point of establishment of the monument because it was not far from the existence of the Pindad Munitions Factory located in Turen, Malang Regency.

Anoa Panzer For Peace Missions

Anoa armored vehicles are armored military vehicles used to transport personnel (Armored Personnel Carriers / APC). The name Anoa is taken from the name of an animal, a type of buffalo which is native to Sulawesi. The prototype was first shown to the public on the 61st anniversary of the TNI.

Combat vehicle (Ranpur) Anoa 6 x 6 was sent for the peace contingent of the Garuda Contingent to Lebanon in 2010 with a special white color and added the UN / UN logo in front of it.

This Anoa not only has the function to transport personnel in it and hold back enemy movements. An 6 × 6 anoa also has a very good attacking ability and most importantly there is an additional radar in it. With this ability all approaching enemies can be easily destroyed.

Armament in Anoa both 6 × 6 or 4 × 4 in the form of heavy machine guns with 12.7 mm caliber and also 7.62 mm. In addition to heavy rifles, the ranpur was also equipped with a Remote Weapon System rifle with 7.62 mm caliber, and a grenade launcher with 40 mm caliber.
