Pindad Distributes Educational Facilities, 1500 Al-Quran Literation Books & Clean Water Facilities

PT Pindad (Persero) provide educational facilities to the Darul Ikhlas foundation, 1500 Koran literacy books for schools in Kiaracondong District and assistance with clean water facilities for communities around the company.

Koran literacy books were symbolically handed over by Plt. Junior Manager of the Partnership & Community Development Program (PKBL) PT Pindad (Persero), Yunus Somantri to the Principal of elementary schools SD Pindad 111, Eki Widyaningsih and SD 038 Kiaracondong, Cicih Adimiyati on September 16, 2020. The Koran literacy book is for Study From Home for elementary and junior high school students during the Covid-19 pandemic. This is in accordance with Indonesian Presidential Regulation number 87 of 2017 concerning the strengthening of character education for extracurricular activities based on reading and writing the Koran.

The Koran literacy book was distributed to schools within the company, including: SMP Bina Dharma II Bandung, SMP Vijaya Kusumah, SMPN 3 Bandung, SMP Muhammadiyah 5 Bandung, SD Pindad 111 and SD 038 Kiaracondong.

Principals of SD Pindad 111 & SD 038 Kiaracondong appreciated the assistance provided by Pindad for student learning interest, especially in conditions of Study From Home amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

Yunus Soemantri said the assistance provided was a form of company concern through PKBL & CSR for educational facilities and clean water for the surrounding community. “The Koran literacy book was given to students with hope of providing Islamic religious education and glorifying the holy book of the Koran, hopefully it will benefit the world and the hereafter,” said Yunus.

Pindad had previously provided educational facilities to the Darul Ikhlas foundation in the form of study desks, cupboards and blackboards to support teaching and learning activities.

Meanwhile, clean water facilities were provided to Masjid Al Ikhlas RW 10 Sukapura and Masjid Miftahulhaq RW 07 Kebonkangkung.
