Pindad Brings Electricity to Rural Homes in Bandung Regency
PT Pindad (Persero), one of the State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs), continues to contribute in an effort to develop the country. This time, Pindad helped increase the electrification ratio by bringing electricity to 100 poor households in Bandung regency, West Java. The contribution was manifested by the signing of a cooperation agreement on State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) synergy for bringing electricity to poor households in West Java and Banten. The agreement was signed by Pindad’s Business Director for Defence and Security, Widjajanto, PLN’s Central Java Regional Business Director, Amir Rosidin, PT Pos Indonesia (Persero) Network and Financial Service Director, Ihwan Sutardiyanta, and President Director of Perum PNRI, Djakfarudin Junus witnessed by Minister of BUMN, Rini Soemarno and Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Ignasius Jonan at the Office of the Ministry of BUMN, Jakarta (Tuesday, 8/7/2018).
Widjajanto said that Pindad, a State-Owned Enterprise operating in West Java, feels responsible to fulfil the electrification ratio needs of the poor families especially in Bandung regency, as a form of corporate social responsibility. "When the Ministry of BUMN unites and coordinates synergy among State-Owned Enterprises, our company’s directors and staff do not hesitate and immediately agree because one of the roles of BUMN is to help increase the electrification ratio as the embodiment of corporate social responsibility," he said. He further explained that Pindad will continue to support the government's efforts to meet the 99.9 electrification ratio target. "We hope that the target set by the government can be fulfilled immediately through a mutual cooperation like this", he said.
The underprivileged members of society who are eligible to receive assistance from the free electricity connection program will get PLN’s subsidized electricity connection of 450 Volt Ampere (VA) and a prepaid service system. The Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN), Rini Soemarno mentioned the target of the program is to bring electricity to 103 thousand households by October 28, 2018, with an estimated cost of Rp 56.9 billion. By next August 16, electricity will be brought to 14 thousand households and to targeted 103 thousand households by October 28. (Bani)
