This assistance was handed over by the Corporate Communications Manager, Komarudin representing PT Pindad (Persero) to the RI Wantannas representative, Col. Laut Abdul Razak and witnessed by the Junior Manager of PKBL & CSR, Yunus Somantri.

The opening of the vaccination activity today was attended by the Secretary General of the Indonesian National Wantannas, Admiral TNI Dr. Ir. Harjo Susmoro; Governor of West Java, Ridwan Kamil; Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkpimda), Deputy Chair of the MUI for West Java Province, Head of West Java Provincial Health Service, Head of West Java Provincial Public Works Service, representatives of the Indonesian National Police, several representatives of SOEs and community leaders.

In his remarks, the Governor of West Java, Ridwan Kamil expressed his greatest appreciation to Wantannas and all parties involved in the implementation of national vaccination. Ridwan Kamil said that vaccination for the prevention of Covid-19 is a form of defending the country.

“Our enemy right now is the Covid-19 virus. Vaccination is currently a form of national defense. During this pandemic, there are various forms of national defense. There are those who defend the country in their professions, and even die in their jobs as medical personnel. There is defending the country with knowledge, seeking for solutions through vaccination, medicine, therapy and others. There are those who defend the country with wealth to share facilities, medical equipment, money, and even basic necessities. Also defend the country as a volunteer, who donates energy and time to help others. Everyone must be defending the country with their respective portions," he explained.

The Governor of West Java, Ridwan Kamil also explained, the condition of the Covid-19 pandemic in West Java had decreased. Last month, hospital occupancy with Covid-19 cases reached 91%, while this morning hospital occupancy decreased to 21% and was the lowest percentage in the history of the two-year pandemic. The availability of oxygen in West Java is also reported to be in surplus, so it can be distributed to help Central Java, Kalimantan and South Sumatra. However, he stressed that the community together with the government should not be careless, do not underestimate the Covid-19 virus and continue to comply with health protocols as a preventive measure.

The implementation of the National Vaccine Movement by the Wantannas will be held at the Al-Jabbar Mosque Court in Bandung, starting from today until next week with a target of 10,000 vaccine participants.
