Covid-19 is a disease caused by infection with the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SRS-CoV-2). COVID-19 can cause respiratory system disorders, ranging from mild symptoms such as the flu, to lung infections, such as pneumonia. One of the effects is causing lung failure and requiring a respiratory support system with a high number of urgent needs.The main obstacle is the limited availability of electronic respiratory support systems and their procurement, which is expensive and takes a long time.

With those urgent need, PT Pindad is called upon innovate in health sector through Pindad VRM. Pindad VRM is a tool designed to help patients with respiratory failure by providing additional oxygen. This product was designed and developed together with a team of medical experts at Pindad Hospital, including anesthesiologists as a team of experts who have competence in medical field. This product is an alternative solution to shortage of ventilators in various hospitals in treating Covid-19 patients.
