2015 Pindads Press Gathering

PT Pindad (Persero)s shooting field became a thrilling shooting arena. About 33 journalists from printed, electronic, and online medias in Bandung and Jakarta competed their shooting skill using PT Pindad (Persero)s rifle and pistol products. These journalists gathered to attend PT Pindad (Persero)s invitation in 2015 Pindads Press Gathering which held on March 18^th, 2015.

On his welcoming speech, PT Pindad (Persero)s CEO Silmy Karim said that this event was held to give an opportunity for the journalists to directly try the performance of PT Pindads weapon products, not only to publish it. There will be a great experience through this shooting competition and event like this will be held regularly so the journalists can directly try, not only publish it, said Silmy.

Moreover, Silmy also said his gratitude for the journalists for their good relationship during this time, to guard defence industry journey. When the media publish news about defence industry ability, it is same like spread a good news about our nation. Journalists are our partner to our struggle for Indonesia's defense industry to provide self-reliance. Have a good competition, hopefully this experience could be beneficial and thank you for your good cooperation all this time, added Silmy.

The journalists divided into two match numbers, long barrel weapon, using SS2-V2 HB (heavy barrel) and handgun using G2 pistol Elite series which especially designed for competition. They should collected points as high as they could by shot to viewfinder and plate target. Three contestants with highest points from each match number would be chosen as champions. The journalists looked so enthusiast participating on this competition, even though it was their first time holding a weapon.

Opportunity to shoot with a real weapon was a remarkable experience and the journalists hoped this activity would be held as soon as possible. Thank you for this event, we often see weapon but never try it before so the sensation is quite extraordinary, said one of the journalists. The other said that Pindad relationship with the journalists is already on a good state and hopefully could be maintained properly. The communication between Pindad and journalists has been established properly, the Corporate Communication is easy to access and additional data is easier to get, said him.  

From this competition, Taufik from RTV successfully obtained champion title for handgun category and Sentot Mulyono from Ministry of State Owned Enterprise obtained the champion title for the rifle category. (Anggia)
