Roket R-Han 122 Will Produce by PT Pindad in 2015
JAKARTA-Ammunition and weapons manufacturer PT Pindad (Persero) is developing a ballistic missile Rhan 122, the first rocket made ??in Indonesia which will be produced to meet the demands of the military in 2015.
"The rocket, called the R-han (Rudal Pertahanan-Missile Defense) 122 was developed PINDAD along with PT Indonesian Aerospace, PT Dahana (Persero), Research and Technology Ministry, BPPT, Puspitek Serpong, and academics," said Director of Planning and Development PINDAD Wahyu Utomo on the sidelines Exhibition defense equipment in 2013 within the framework of the 68th anniversary of the military in Silang Monas, Jakarta, on Friday.
According to Wahyu, current development of the missile is in the test phase in the Baturaja area, South Sumatra, and in South Garut.
"Making the rocket is still in the stage of completion and get the firing tables. Firing tables can only be obtained if it had been tested several times and shot accurately," he said.
The missile test about 200-300 times, to measure the degree of accuracy, the level of strength and explosive power.
He added, R-Han 122 rockets manufactured to meet the needs of the military, because its still imported from several countries.
"This is the first Indonesian ballistic missile defense, and will continue to be developed," he said.
Related how many R-Han 122 rockets will be produced, depending on the budget of the government said Wahyu.
"The principle is this is the first step to develop a rocket. With this development of Indonesia's future course may appear and be taken into account in the international arena," he said.
He added that, with the development of the R-han as embryo of rocket defense, it is not impossible that Indonesia can make their own missiles on a large scale .
