Adopting the SS1-V1 design, SS1-M1 built specifically to fulfill Indonesian Marine Corps requirement of rust resistance weapon that can be exposed to sea water without any damage or malfunction. For that purpose, SS1-M1 is coated in a special coating that makes the weapon can be resistant to rust and can be operated in sea and water area. The term M1 itself means Marinized type 1.
