Tank Boat
Tank Boat is an defense system (main weapon system tool) designed for territorial waters, is a program of Indonesian Ministry of Defense implemented by a consortium where PT Pindad become a lead integrator in collaboration with PT Lundin Industri (Persero), and PT Hariff.
Tank Boat can carry 60 personnel and 5 crew members, has a maximum speed of 40 knots and expedition energy up to 600 Nautical mile. Equipped with a 30 mm calibre RCWS main gun and 2 12.7 mm machine guns, the Tank Boat is ready to maintain sovereignty and defend the territorial waters of the Republic of Indonesia. Antasena Tank Boat body rests on a double hull structure. The double hull design allows Antasena to go fast, because water resistance is passed under the boat between the two keels. With two propeller engines, twice 1,700 horsepowr (HP), plus two 2x550 HP waterjet engines, Antasena can glide 74 km per hour. Antasena Tank Boat hull is made of carbon composite, a material that is 10 times as strong as steel, but only one-tenth as heavy. Antasena Tank Boat is not easily torn apart by bullets. The body is not too heavy, the draft of the ship that enters water is only 90 cm.
Antasena Tank Boat has successfully undergone a series of test starting with a Sea Trial from Banyuwangi dock to Paiton waters, East Java (May 22, 2021). Tank Boat then carried out a Firing Test using 30 mm main gun at the Paiton Navy firing range.
Tank boats are expected to be able to support TNI in carrying out swamp, sea, river and beach (Ralasuntai) operations as well as sea and coast guard duties.
