Review production facilities, the Minister of SOEs proud of Pindad’s defense and industrial products

The Minister of SOEs of the Republic of Indonesia, Erick Thohir visited the production facilities of PT Pindad (Persero) Bandung on Thursday, April 8, 2021. Pindad’s CEO, Abraham Mose along with the Board of Directors and Commissioners welcomed a visit from the Minister of SOEs who was accompanied by the Deputy for Law and Legislation of the Ministry of SOEs, Carlo Tewu and Secretary of the Ministry of SOEs, Susyanto. The Minister of SOEs visited Pindad after inspecting the SOEs Covid-19 Vaccination Center at the Eldorado Convention Hall, Bandung. Erick Thohir and his ranks drove a Maung vehicle from Husein Sastranegara Airport to the Eldorado Convention Hall also to the Pindad Bandung Head Office.

The Minister of SOEs reviewed the defense and security business production lines including the Weapons Division and the Special Vehicle Division. Abraham Mose conveyed the development of Pindad weapons from the short barrel to the long barrel as well as the achievements from Pindad weapons and munitions have achieved in supporting the TNI in various international shooting competitions. Abraham Mose also showed a variety of vehicles that have been produced by Pindad including Anoa combat vehicle, Badak, Harimau Medium Tank, Komodo tactical vehicle to the latest, Maung.

Erick Thohir was amazed and proud of the national defense equipment produced by Pindad and invited the Board of Directors, Commissioners and employees of Pindad to take pictures with the ranks of Pindad production vehicles. He appreciated the innovation of the domestic defense industry and supported Pindad to continue to improve its capabilities and innovations going forward.

The Minister of SOEs also reviewed various industrial products and particularly appreciated the PUPR Ministry for supporting domestic products and for purchasing a lot of heavy excavator made by Pindad. Abraham Mose shows the various excavator variants that Pindad has produced, starting from the standard variant, Long Arm to Amphibious.

Erick Thohir also reviewed the Pertashop production facilities, gas cylinders, Agricultural Machine Tools (Alsintan), generators, as well as the potential for electric motors to support electric vehicles both 2 and 4 wheels. He will encourage increased synergy that can be carried out by Pindad with other SOEs.

Abraham Mose appreciated the BUMN Minister for taking the time to visit Pindad and providing support for improving the performance and capability of BUMN. Abraham Mose also said that Pindad will maximize dual use of technology for the defense and security business lines and industry and is ready to work together with various parties to continue promoting domestic products, one of which is the Pertashop synergy for Pertamina, Pindad is completing an order of 300 units.
