Medium Tank Agility Test

Following a successful mines explosives endurance test for the Medium Tank, this time the Tank that was developed jointly by PT Pindad and the Turkish FNSS goes through its agility or mobility test on August 7-16, 2018.

VP of Quality Assurance & Occupational Health, Safety and Environment (K3LH), Isrady Sofiansyah, and the Head of Sub Dis Materials (Kasubdismat) Dislitbangad, Colonel Cpl. Prihandoko, attended the tests. This Medium Tank project is a long-term program to technological mastery with the goal of self-reliance. The set of agility tests performed comprising of: on road, off road and sand courses agilities, 3 x 24-hour endurance, etc. The waypoints were Bandung, Subang, Sarangan, Yogyakarta, Kebumen and back to Bandung. The tests of low speed, dry-sand crossing, sandy and shrubby hills crossing, and combat light were carried out on August 11, 2018. 

These tests aim to quantify the Medium Tank mobility performance in good conditions and to make sure it passes the design requirements and specifications. The set of tests is a certification activity carried out by the Army Research and Development Service (Dislitbangad) and supported by PT Pindad (Persero) and FNSS as test partners. Following the mobility test, assault tests will take place on August 27-30, 2018. The set of tests fulfilled the requirements and specifications of the Indonesian Army to complete the Technical Performance tasks of the Medium Tank.

Once the set of tests are completed, the Tank is expected to fulfill the Indonesian State Army’s needs of modern defense system primary equipment (alutsista).
