Deputy Minister of SOEs 1 Visit Pindad to Review the Development of National Defense Industry

Deputy Minister of SOEs 1, Budi Gunadi Sadikin accompanied by Deputy Assistant for the Defense & Manufacturing Industry, Liliek Mayasari and his staff conducted a work visit to Head Office of PT Pindad (Persero), Abraham Mose along with the Board of Commissioners, Directors and echelon 1 officials received the Deputy Minister of SOEs 1 and his ranks.

Abraham Mose was honored by the work visit of the Deputy Minister of SOEs 1 to see the development of PT Pindad (Persero) as a national defense industry. Opening the entire activity of Deputy Minister of SOEs 1, Abraham Mose gave a speech and presentation regarding the company profile and product of PT Pindad (Persero), defense & security products including firearms, munitions and special vehicles.

One of the superior products of PT Pindad (Persero) as well as the pride of Indonesia is the weapon product of PT Pindad (Persero), called SS2 V4 which has been trusted by the TNI to be able to win the AARM and AASAM International Shooting competitions. Various munition products, both small calliber munitions (cal. 5.56mm to 12.7mm), large caliber, mortar and mortar aircraft, various hand grenades to bombs. Then Abraham introduced the Anoa Combat Vehicle which had been involved in the UN Peacekeeper Mission, the 4x4 Komodo combat vehicle, Harimau Medium Tank which was predicted to be the mainstay of the TNI combat vehicle to the Maung light tactical vehicle, PT Pindad (Persero) also has the capacity to produce the SM5 Kal machine gun. 12.7mm and RCWS Kal. 30mm which has been used by Bakamla to maintain security in Natuna Island. “One of the latest news that make us proud is SM5 product is used by Bakamla to maintain security in Natuna,” Abraham explained.

Not only defense and security products, Abraham also explained the development of industrial product of PT Pindad (Persero) such as excavators and agricultural machinery that can support the Food Estate program, LPG gas cylinders, railroad ties to medical products called ventilators.

Deputy Minister of SOEs 1, Budi Gunadi Sadikin expressed his gratitude for the welcome given by PT Pindad (Persero) as well as expressing admiration and interest in Pindad products. During the visit, Budi Gunadi Sadikin advised the Commissioners and Directors of PT Pindad (Persero) to build an industry especially as a national defense industry that can support Indonesia’s defense and security. “I entrust it to Pindad, to the Commisioners and Directors, to build the defense industry in order to fulfil the Minimum Essential Force of our TNI. I also hope that Pindad can develop an industrial ecosystem to involve Indonesian industries whose origin comes from the defense industry. Pindad already has a very felicitous vision. Well, it is necessary to pay attention to performance as an industry by using corporate principles, budget management and financial discipline appropriately,” Budi Gunadi Sadikin explained.

The activity was then continued by visiting the production facilities of PT Pindad (Persero) which began with reviewing Pindad industrial products called excavators, agricultural machinery, gas cylinder to medical equipment products, ventilators, Pindad VRM. The delegation of the Deputy Minister of SOEs 1 then visited the special vehicle production facility and ended by trying Pindad weapon by shooting.
