GM of Heavy Equipment, Cucun Kalsum appreciated the opportunity given by the Mayor of Bandung to Pindad to test its products in Bandung.

"Thank you for giving us the opportunity to test the umpteenth tool in Bandung. At this moment we are introducing our newest tool, Excava 80 Amphibious which hopefully it can be used for operations to build Bandung to be even better, "said Cucun.

Cucun also explained various other heavy equipment products made by Pindad and specifically invited the Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Bandung to see the company's production facilities.

Meanwhile, the Mayor of Bandung in his speech, Oded M Danial, said that in the future the need for heavy equipment will increase in Bandung.

"Bandung is large, has lots of rivers, more and more retention ponds are also being made. God willing, we need equipment and in essence, we are ready to collaborate with anyone, especially Indonesian products made in the city of Bandung, "said Oded.

The mayor who is familiarly called Mang Oded also shared his experiences regarding 3 things that are factors in the management of the impact of the flood disaster in the city of Bandung, namely: silt or wet sediment in rivers and retention ponds, infiltration functions and broken embankments so that the monitoring function and equipment must be improved.

Excava 80 Ampibibious is the latest variant of the 8 ton excavator which is equipped with a 4 cylinder diesel engine. This excavator has smaller dimensions, is agile and can fit into smaller areas. Supported by the pontoon installation, this type of excavator can do dredging in a floating position in shallow water, making it suitable for operations in shallow water such as rivers, swamp areas, and other operations that cannot be performed by normal excavators.

Pindad currently has produced various excavator variants including Excava 55, Excava 80, Excava 140, Excava 200, Excava 200 Long Arm, and Excava 200 Amphibious. Apart from excavators, Pindad has also been able to produce various other heavy equipment such as material handling, road preservation variants and waste processing equipment.
