Deputy Minister of SOEs I and Deputy Minister of Defense attended the meeting of SOEs Defense Indust
Deputy Minister of BUMN I, Pahala Nugraha Mansury and Deputy Minister of Defense, Muhammad Herindra directly inspected the production facilities of PT Len Industri (Persero) in Bandung, Friday (05/03). The visit was carried out as one of the agendas at the 2021 Defense Industry BUMN Work Meeting which was held at PT Len Industri.
The meeting was held after the visit agenda with the theme "Realizing Indonesia's Defense Independence and Increasing Operational Excellence through the Consolidation of the SOEs Defense Industry" which was attended by the President Director of the five BUMN Indhan PT Len Industri (Persero), PT Dirgantara Indonesia (Persero), PT Pindad (Persero), PT PAL Indonesia (Persero), and PT Dahana (Persero).
Herindra in her speech stated, "We have experienced a time where we had nothing, were subjected to an embargo, how weak our defenses were. Luckily there was no war (at that time). But we shouldn't be like that, we have to be strong, we have to be independent. I hope we can also become part of the global supply chain. And of course innovation, because I see that defense equipment continues to develop. And the most important thing is the economy, because a strong industry will certainly be able to move the economy. "
According to him, the most important thing in this matter is to sacrifice for the greater common interest, to synergize with each other, to coordinate to advance the defense industry.
Pahala Mansury in his remarks explained, "This is a very good momentum to gather here, one of which is planning that the defense industry is a very strategic industry because we are carrying out the president's vision of how Indonesia can truly have resilience in this sector."
According to him, the assets of the state-owned defense industry amount to 37 trillion, including a large number, not a small holding and including an extraordinary SOE cluster. There is still a lot of homework to do. The vision and roadmap is clear where in 2024 the Indhan BUMN is targeted to become a joint top 50 defense industry in the world.
"Innovation is absolutely necessary, be it business innovation or interaction and synergy, especially with the Ministry of Defense. The point is how to increase the involvement of BUMN Indhan in fulfilling the needs of the domestic defense industry, "added Pahala.
President Director of PT Len Industri, Bobby Rasyidin, in his official statement as Chairman of the Indhan BUMN Organizing Committee, said, "How to realize the target of Indhan BUMN Holding? among others, is by strengthening the capital structure, increasing competitiveness, creating ecosystems and creating value (value creation), as well as increasing the operational efficiency of each member of the BUMN Indhan. "
The working meeting discussed, among others, how the Indhan BUMN master plan, the roadmap for the formation of a holding, the strategic holding roadmap for 2020-2024, and also the post-holding operation model will be formed later. The five Directors for Technology, Business and Production from each BUMN conveyed the roadmap for developing their respective business, technology and industry in order to synergize with each other.
The working meeting was also attended by KBUMN Assistant Deputy for Manufacturing & Defense Industry Liliek Mayasari, as well as the board of directors of the five BUMN Indhan companies.
