Pindad Showcased Water Cannon and Weapons at the Culmination of Hakteknas 2018

PT Pindad (Persero) showcased the latest Water Cannon vehicle and its various products at Research, Innovation, and Technology (RITECH) Expo at the culmination of National Awakening Day's (Hakteknas) commemoration on August 9-12, 2018 in the province of Riau. The event was inaugurated by Bapak Teknologi (Father of Technology), B.J. Habibie, Minister of Research, Technology and Higher Education (Menristekdikti), Mohamad Nasir, Governor of Riau, Arsyadjuliandi Rachman and attended by Pindad’s Executive Director, Abraham Mose, and the company’s Director of Technology and Development, Ade Bagdja. This year’s Hakteknas theme is “Innovation for Food and Energy Independence” with a sub-theme of “Food and Energy Sector in the Industrial Revolution Era 4.0”. 

Pindad showcased the water cannon vehicle, the result of joint research and development with Agency for Technology Assessment and Application (BPPT), the Indonesian Police Research and Development Center (Puslitbang Polri) and PT Astanita. The advanced water cannon vehicle is designed to meet the specifications and requirements of the Indonesian Police to fulfil its needs for riot control vehicles. Pindad’s role is to develop the vehicle while BPPT, PT Astanita and Puslitbang Polri team up to develop the water cannon system. The Puslitbang Polri responsible to carrying out certification process. 

This vehicle is the pride of Pindad, the exhibition of the vehicle conveyed a message to all people, especially to the people of Riau that Pindad is able to produce water cannon vehicles according to the specifications required by the user, in this case the Indonesian National Police. Pindad also exhibited various high-tech products and the company's latest innovation at the RITECH Expo 2018.
