Anoa Panser Handover to Mabes TNI
Twenty four units of Anoa-2 Panser were delivered from PT Pindad (Persero) to Markas Besar Tentara Nasional Indonesia (Indonesian National Armed Forces Headquarter) or Mabes TNI. Those special vehicles were delivered by PT Pindad (Persero) President Director Duty Executir, Tri Hardjono to Commander of the Armed Forces, General TNI Moeldoko on Penandatanganan Berita Acara Serah Terima 24 (Dua Puluh Empat) Unit Hasil Modifikasi Panser APS-2 (6x6) Pindad dan Suku Cadang event on Friday, March 14th 2014 at Indonesian UN Headquarters, Sentul, West Java. The event was also attended by PT Pindad (Persero) Board of Directors and some high level officials.
As the national industry which producing the weaponry system products that fully support the nation sovereignty defence process, PT Pindad (Persero) was also participated on supporting the world peacekeeping mission. Therefore, those 24 units of Panser, would be used by Composite Battalion of The XXXV-B/UNAMID (United Nations Mission In Darfur)Indonesian Garuda Contingent Satuan Tugas (Work Units) or Satgas which would be served as the peacekeeping forces for one year at Darfur, Sudan. Some Satgas groups would be placed on some area at Sudan such as El Geneina and Masteri.
Twenty four units of Anoa-2 Panser which were delivered by PT Pindad (Persero), were consisted of some variants such as Armored Personnel Carrier (APC), Ambulance, and Recovery. Generally, the specifications were not significantly different with the ordinary Anoa Panser, except the adding of ceramic add-on at the vehicle body, so that could be resisted ammunition up to 12,7 mm caliber.
The 24 units of Anoa-2 Panser to Sudan for UNAMID mission was the second participation of PT Pindad (Persero). The first participation was back on 2009 PT Pindad (Persero) was also sent 14 units of Anoa Panser for United Nation Interim Force In Libanon (UNIFIL). This handover was a form of support and full trust from the Indonesian National Armed Forces and Ministry of Defence to PT Pindad (Persero) to keep producing the national pride armored vehicle.
