Defend ID Spreads Productive Plants in Subang Regency

Holding DEFEND ID provided assistance for 5,000 productive plants to the Subang Regency Government. The assistance was handed over by the DEFEND ID Social and Environmental Responsibility Team (TJSL) to Subang Regent H. Ruhimat in Talaga Sunda Subang on Thursday, 19 May 2022.

This assistance is in order to implement the CSR priority program of the Ministry of SOEs regarding environmental conservation, as well as to support the West Java Provincial Government's program in the environmental field, and the efforts to make the Subang Regency Government's three million tree planting program a success.

In his remarks, Subang Regent H. Ruhimat said that the Subang Regency Government is currently building several roads which are expected to be accompanied by productive plants. His party really appreciates the initiative from the ranks of the Defense Industry SOEs.

"This is the second time for SOEs DEFEND ID in Subang Regency, after some time ago planting mangrove trees in Legon District. Incredibly, we highly appreciate the support for reforestation of DEFEND ID in Subang Regency. In God willing, I believe this is not just a ceremonial but a serious one from DEFEND ID, because it has been done several times,” said H. Ruhimat.

In addition, the Head of the West Java Provincial Forestry Service, Dodit Ardian Prapanca, said that when talking about planting and reforestation, the first thing is to maintain spatial planning. As has been done by the Subang Regency Government.

"Let's support this planting and reforestation. In addition, let's move with the education office so that our children can participate in tree planting events so that there is a spirit in them, this is the tree I used to plant. We will support the planting programs carried out by the Regent of Subang," said Dodit.

Meanwhile, TJSL DEFEND ID Coordinator Donny Gunawan said that planting is against (global warming). According to him, Subang Regency is a diamond that has various kinds of potential but has not been polished, and the planting of 5,000 trees is an effort to help polish the diamond.

“Planting is against global warming, which we are already feeling, global warming is no longer a discourse, but it has happened. Of course we have to fight global warming, the greenhouse effect, decarbonization, and of course deforestation. This beautiful nature is not inherited from our ancestors, but is entrusted to our children and grandchildren," said Donny.
