SOEs of Defence Industry hold an exit meeting for the implementation of the 2020 GCG assessment

Bandung, May 10, 2021. The SOEs that are members of the Defense Industry Cluster have completed the implementation of the 2020 GCG Assessment. This was marked by the implementation of the Defense Industry SOEs Exit Meeting with the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP) which was held from the end of April to first week of May 2021.
The Exit Meeting which was held virtually by each of the State-Owned Enterprises of the Defense Industry, attended by the Shareholders (Ministry of SOEs of the Republic of Indonesia), the Board of Commissioners, Directors, Corporate Secretary, Head of SPI, and the Counterpart Team. The implementation of Good Corporate Governance policies is stated in Regulation of the Minister of State-Owned Enterprises No. PER-09/MBU/2012 concerning the implementation of Good Corporate Governance in SOEs.
This year, the SOEs Defense Industry cooperates with BPKP as an assessor in the implementation of the 2020 Financial Year GCG Assessment which takes place from mid-March to May 2021. This GCG assessment uses six parameters consist of: Commitment to good and sustainable governance, shareholders and GMS, Board of Commisioners/Supervisory Board, Board of Directors, Disclosure of information and transparency as well as other aspects.
According to Rina Moreta who represents the Shareholders, this Exit Meeting is for policy makers to review the results of SOEs Defense Industry GCG Assessment in 2020 Fiscal Year. Good corporate governance can also be a benchmark for the company to run effectively and efficiently.
“This assessment with BPKP is very useful for measuring corporate governance that has been carried out by the company. In addition, this joint assessment is a form of collaboration between SOEs Defense Industry in accordance with the core values of AKHLAK. We hope that in 2024 GCG score for Defense Industry will be 90.05,” said Rina Moreta.
Meanwhile, Head of West Java BPKP Representative, Mulyana, said that the results of GCG assessment were expected to be a medium for continuous improvement. “AOI must be followed up so that corporate governance will be better and the company’s performance will increase. And there is harmony between KPI results, Health Level and GCG assessment results,” he said. Mulyana also underlined, with the assessment of 5 SOEs within the Defense Industry scope being carried out simultaneously, this 2020 financial year assessment could be the base line in designing better GCG achievements on an ongoing basis in the future at the Defense Industry Holding.
The same thing was expressed by the Director of Finance and Administration of PT Pindad (Persero), Wildan Arief who was appointed as the Coordinator of the Joint Program for the GCG Sector of SOEs Defense Industry. According to him, good and sustainable corporate governance is one of the prerequisites so that the business climate can progress and developed.
“The implementation of the Defense Industry SOEs GCG Assessment with BPKP is a form of collaboration to welcome the formation of the Defense Industry SOEs Holding which is targeted to be completed by the end of this year. In addition, this collaboration with BPKP is also a provision for counterparts in carrying out self-assessment in the following year so that the parameters used are same,” explain Wildan Arif.
Currently, the Defense Industry SOEs Cluster is entering the final preparations to become a Holdong with DEFEND ID (Defence Industry Indonesia). PT Len Industri (Persero) was appointed as a leader consisting of PT Pindad (Persero), PT Dahana (Persero), PT Dirgantara Indonesia (Persero) and PT PAL Indonesia (Persero). Have a vision to become advance, strong, independent, competitive and leading national defense industries in global market, this Defense Industry SOEs holding is targeted to completed by the 3rd Quarter of 2021.
