Pindad CEO : We Need a Leap Forward

On August 15^th, 2014 PT Pindad (Persero) and Lembaga Pengelola Dana Pendidikan (Education Funding Management Agency) of LPDP were signing Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on human resources quality enhancement and research. This MoU was a cooperation frame which was signed by PT Pindad (Persero) CEO, Sudirman Said and President Director of LPDP, Eko Prasetyo at 100th Building, Special Vehicle Division, Bandung.

The MoU signing was in line with the company development that being conducted by PT Pindad (Persero). The company is in effort to strengthening the national defense industry. That effort should be supported by human capital competency, the power of research, organization, and technology.

Those intentions were welcomed by President Director of LPDP, Eko Prasetyo. He said that LPDP was eager that national defense industry could be a leader at our own country through the qualified ability of its best citizen. We want Indonesia strategic industry will be able to support the needs of the defense and security development of the country and generally, we are working to improve the competitiveness of the nation through national industries.

He continued, We want to prove that the nation best citizen can afford to produce their own products, so all it takes is a policy to progressively establish the position of Indonesia strategic industry, one of them is Pindad, to be able to supply domestic needs with innovations that will certainly enhance the nation competitiveness in the international world. This is one of the goals that want be achieved by LPDP to make the nation best citizen mastering science and technology through the provision of scholarships to the best schools throughout the world.

The independence of the national defence industry could also be supported by a strategic research, to follow the evolving technological innovations. A good synergy between industry and researchers from various universities in Indonesia were also expected to be created so that the best of the nation's competence could be optimized. Hopefully we can bring up the best new products from Indonesia best citizen, formed by a strong research, which eventually produced by national industries, and can be utilized by all the people of Indonesia, added Eko.

PT Pindad (Persero) CEO, Sudirman Said said that to fulfill the Law Number 16, Year 2012, Pindad was needed a big leap forward. To pursue the independent defense and security equipments availability It takes a visionary management management, relying on human resources and high intellectual idealism at various level of management so that it is able to follow the development of times. The companys current priority is not only to survive but understanding how to do a leap forward. This leap forward, can only be pursued through three things which is technology, research, and human resource capabilities.

He added that this cooperation is mutually beneficial cooperation for both parties. Today was manifested a synergy of two parties, the first to provide a supply of atechnology, human resources and research accesses, and the second is company that are desperate to get three things: mastery of better technology, better research, and improved human resources. On the ending of his speech, he hoped that this cooperation could provide the best for the company. Hopefully, todays meeting can give a hope for us all to manifest the better and more glorious Pindad at the future. (Anggia)
