Chief Technology and Development of Pindad Explains the Independence of The Defence Industry to SEKK

Chief Technology and Development of PT Pindad (Persero), Ade Bagdja, gave a public lecture to participants of the Pasis Work Lecture Batch 108/2020 Air Force Unit Command School (SEKKAU) which was conducted online on Friday, September 4, 2020 at the Secretary Meeting Room of the Ministry of SOEs, Jakarta.

SEKKAU is one of the units under Kodiklatau to provide first-level general development education for TNI / Air Force officers. For the Job Lecture program, SEKKAU Student learning activities are used to apply theoretical knowledge and other supporting knowledge, through the research methods that have been taught.

On this occasion, Ade Bagdja conveyed material about the Independence of the Defense Industry in During Covid-19 Era. He explained how the definition, aspects and outline of the Indonesian Defense Industry and the desired independence expectations. Ade Bagdja also emphasized that the aspect of independence consists of 3 main indicators; Abililty in making /  integrating defense equipment, freedom in choosing material / system and technology sources and independence from various ties. The independence of the Defense Industry will also grow if the Defense Industry is given the opportunity to create innovation, make improvements and the products are trusted to be used in various units.

Through his presentation, Ade Bagdja also explained that the independence of the Defense Industry did not only grow during Covid-19 pandemic, but before even after. During the Covid-19 pandemic, PT Pindad (Persero) was also produce ventilator called Pindad VRM & Pindad VRM 2. PT Pindad (Persero) also has various products to tackle Covid, named Covent-20 a ventilator in collaboration with University of Indonesia, Disinfectant Fog Cannon, Mobile Sterilization Chamber and PPE Equipment. In addition, Pindad is also working with BPPT to develop Level 2 Mobile Bio Safety Lab (BSL) products, which are mobile medical laboratories for the response to Covid-19.

Innovative products developed by PT Pindad (Persero) do not stand alone, but there is cooperation from various parties which is partnership strategy. For the end of the program, Ade Bagdja invited all program participants to support PT Pindad (Persero) in realizing the independence of the domestic defense industry and producing various quality defense equipment products.
