Third Stage ERP Implementation Kick Off Event at PT Pindad (Persero)
Third stage implementation of Enterprises Resources Planning (ERP) at PT Pindad (Persero) would be started soon. That was signed by the convention of the Kick Off Event for Third Stage ERP Implementation on July 9th, 2013. This event was held at Auditorium Directorate Building and directly opened by Director of Planning and Development, Wahyu Utomo and PT Abyor International, Hari Tjahjono. Some audiences who attended this event were PT Pindad (Persero) Board of Directors, Project Owners and Projects Managers where the third stage ERP would be implemented, and some audiences who related with this project.
On his speech, Director of Planning and Development said that the ERP Implementation was a big task which compatible with the company purpose at 2015 which mentioned to have great business integration. He also said that the success of this project implementation wasn’t on consultant side or at Organization and System’s, but at the Project Managers side to decide business process configuration which existed at each division. Furthermore, the full commitment and involvement from the implementation executor at each division would support the success of the project.
For this third stage ERP implementation, PT Pindad (Persero) is back to cooperate with PT Abyor International, like the previous stages. This stage implementation is also have the widest scope than the previous stages. The first stage which also the pilot project, was implemented at Weapon Division, the second stage was implemented at Ammunition Division and the Head Office, and the third stage would be implemented at 4 divisions which under Directorate of Manufacturing Products such as Special Vehicle Division, Forging and Casting Division, Industrial Machinery and Services Division, and Commercial Explosive Division.
The inauguration of the third stage ERP implementation was signed by the project charter signing and handover from the Steering Committee which represented by Director of Manufacturing Product, Tri Hardjono to the project owners and project managers from each division. This inauguration was also symbolized the readiness of each division to obey the ERP go live deadline which is November 4th 2013 for Forging and Casting Division and Commercial Explosive Division, and February 10th, 2014 for Industrial Machinery and Service Division and Special Vehicle Division.
ERP is a system which automated the activity with an application which integrating so that the smallest business process could be directly controlled from the center. For the previous implementation, PT Pindad has been used six System Application Products (SAP) modules such as Sales & Distribution (SD) for sales and marketing function, Material Management (MM) for procurement and warehouse function, Production Planning (PP) for production function, Quality Control (QC) for quality and testing, Plant Maintenance (PM) for maintenance function, and Financial and Controlling (FICO) for finance and cost function. For the implementation at Special Vehicle Division, would be added two extra modules which is Project System (PS) for production function and Customer Service (CS) for after sales function.
That day’s event was closed by ERP Overview Training which delivered by Budi Limansubroto from PT Abyor International. Training and implementation stages series would await to be executed, so that the output of this ERP implementation, namely the operational excellence, could be immediately reached. (Anggia)
