Commission 6 Review Pindad's Latest Capabilities, Encourage Independence and Innovation of the Domes

The President Director of PT Pindad (Persero), Abraham Mose along with the Board of Directors received a specific working visit of the People’s Representatives Council of The Republic of Indonesia (DPR RI) Commission 6 led by Deputy Chairman of the DPR RI Commission 6, Martin Manurung, SE, MA at the Pindad office, Bandung on Thursday, July 9, 2020.

Specific reason of Work Visit of the DPR RI Commission 6 to PT Pindad (Persero) is a part of the scope of tasks in the field of SOEs, in addition to links with Industry, Trade, SME Cooperatives, Investment and National Standardization. During the visit, the Deputy Assistant of BUMN Defense Industry, Manufacturing and other Industries, Liliek Mayasari and his team were also present.

Deputy Chairman of the DPR RI Commission 6, Martin Manurung appreciated the warm welcome of PT Pindad (Persero). In his remarks, Martin claimed to be proud of the products of PT Pindad (Persero) which had been recognized by the Indonesian Army for the quality of its products and with various achievements of the International Shooting Championship and even innovating some product during pandemic situation. "The purpose and objective of our visit is to supervise and discuss and support Pindad to produce defense and industrial products with higher TKDN so that National Resilience can be more independent. We are proud to see that Pindad's financial performance reports in the past 4 years recorded positive trends and made a large contribution for the country. " said Martin.

In his remark, Abraham Mose introduced the DPR RI Commission 6 to PT Pindad (Persero) including production facilities and products that have been produced. "Pindad is located in 2 locations, Bandung is our current position and in Turen, Malang. In Bandung we produce defense and industrial products, while in Turen we are focused on both small caliber and large caliber munitions. We are also proud introducing our new product, called Pindad VRM, Pindad innovation Ventilators who have passed BPFK certification and you can visit during the Plant Tour. " said Abraham.

After Abraham Mose's remarks, the activity continued with a presentation by the Chief Business Strategy of PT Pindad (Persero), Rizka Putranto. In his presentation, Rizka explained about the potentials of PT Pindad (Persero) both through product excellence and corporately. Rizka also explained the investment design for the next 5 years. "Development of production lines and modernization is needed to achieve national security needs. We see that national security needs are priority, at the same time we will corporately modernize and maximize production performance through various steps. One of the main developments is in the munitions production line, and we have received support from the Deputy Minister, who happened to visit in April and gave direction for the modernization of various machines ". said Rizka.

In addition to discussing the munitions, Rizka also explained various strategic partnerships, potential development in weapons and special vehicle products, heavy equipment & agriculture products to good news that Pindad has succeeded in developing to get certification from BPFK for Ventilator products. DPR RI Commission 6 appreciates the design and steps taken by PT Pindad (Persero) including appreciating the ventilator products that are very much needed during today’s circumstances. The discussion proceeded warmly with DPR RI Commission 6, reading the needs and mapping out Pindad's steps towards investment decisions.

To review in more detail, DPR RI Commission 6 had the opportunity to visit special vehicle production facilities, witness the parade of special vehicle defiles and try to drive using a variety of special vehicles, called Komodo, Anoa and take pictures in the Harimau Medium Tank. Before closing the trip, DPR RI Commission 6 along with the entourage visited the display of weapons products and tried to shoot using the flagship weapon produced by Pindad, SS2-V4.
