Indian HDMC Visit to PT Pindad (Persero)

Thirty five Colonels from Indian Higher Defence Management Course (HDMC) were visited PT Pindad (Persero). The group which was led by First Admiral S. Sridhar, was accepted by Deputy Director of Resources Development, Yayat Ruyat at Auditorium Directorate Building. Head Department of Marketing, Sena Maulana.

The members of the group were the colonels which prepared to be a part of equipment fulfillment for India’s defence industry. Therefore, their visit to PT Pindad (Persero) was done in order to learn about how the defence industry planning in Indonesia, through PT Pindad (Persero).

The event was begun with a brief introduction about PT Pindad (Persero) from Deputy Director of Resources Development. After that, the member of the group were enthusiastically asked about the weaponry system products were being made started from the design process, the making process, until the requirement determining by the customer, until the benchmarking possibility. They were also asked about the cooperation of PT Pindad (Persero) with the third party in working on a project.

The event was continued by a visit to PT Pindad (Persero) production facilities. The group were visited 2^nd Production Department of Special Vehicle Division and they were got an explanation about the assembling process of Anoa Panser 6x6 and Tactical Vehicle Komodo 4x4 from Head Department of Marketing, Sena Maulana. The members of the group were also asked about the production process of military vehicle, the raw materials that were used, until to wherever the products were marketed.

After the visit at Special Vehicle Division was ended, the group was immediately left PT Pindad (Persero). Hopefully, today’s visit could useful in showing a glimpse about the planning process of defence industry in Indonesia. (Anggia)
