Opening the Cooperation with Saudi Arabia
On Tuesday, Aprul 15th 2014, Defence Ministry of Saudi Arabia delegations, were visited PT Pindad (Persero). The delegations were acccepted by Director of Weaponry System Ade Bagdja at Auditorium, Directorate Building. Also attended this event were Head of Weapon Division Santa Yusuf and Head Of Special Vehicle Division Edy Purwanto.
The delegation which led by Brigade General Athiyah Saleh Al-Maliki as Chief of Central Committee for the Local Manufacturing, was visited PT Pindad (Persero) as the follow up of Defence Cooperation Agreement (DCA) signing which has signed by Republic of Indonesia and Saudi Arabia on last January 25th 2014, and one of the point was about the cooperation at defence industry field. Furthermore, they were wanted to know further about the bussiness process of Indonesia defence industry on producing weaponry system product. PT Pindad (Persero) was chosen because PT Pindad is the State Owned Company that fully supported the Indonesian Army performance in Indonesia, especially at land dimension.
The enthusiasm of the delegation was shown during the question and answer session about the detail business process of PT Pindad (Persero) with Director of Weaponry System. Various questions were asked by the delegation about the detail product capability, product desain, product testing, export to many foreign countries, quality certification product system, human resources, until PT Pindad (Persero) position at Indonesia industry and government.
The activity of the delegation was continued by visiting the production facilities at Special Vehicle Division and Weapon Division. At these production facilities, the delegation was asking more detail about the product specification and directly trying the performance of PT Pindad (Persero) leading products such as riding Anoa 6x6 Armoured Vehicle and trying to shoot by using the SS2 Assault Riffle.
Hopefully, the visit of Defence Ministry of Saudi Arabia could open up the further cooperation and beneficial for both sides at the future. (Anggia)
