Challenging Journalists Adrenaline through Shooting Competition

Took place at shooting field of Divisi Senjata, PT Pindad (Persero), Bandung was held a media gathering event for media colleagues as well as implementation of shooting competition between journalists. This event was held on August 17^th, 2014 to celebrate the 69^th Independence Day of Republic of Indonesia and at the same time establishing a good hospitality with media colleagues who has professionally cooperated with PT Pindad (Persero) in conducting important publications about the company.

This event was symbolically opened by CEO of PT Pindad (Persero), Sudirman Said and participated by 25 journalists from printed, electronic, and online media. On his speech, PT Pindad (Persero) was asked for media support in participating to guard the ability enhancement that was conducting at PT Pindad (Persero). We ask for support from media colleagues, because this Republic needs a strong defense industry, so theres no other way except Pindad strengthened itself because the chance is so big. Research, technology, and human resources capability are defence industry needs to be improved. Pindad management team will continue to work hard to improve those things.

After symbolic opening from the CEO, the shooting competition was officially begun. Twenty five journalists who registered should following two shooting categories: long barrel weapon shooting competition which using SS2 rifle and handgun shooting competition which using G2 Combat handgun. For the long barrel weapon competition, the participant should hit the target and steel plate with 50 meters length using 12 grains ammunition with 5,56 mm caliber. For the handgun competition, participant should hit the target and steel plate with 15 meters length using 12 grains ammunition with 9 mm caliber. For each steel plate that fell of, the participant will gain 10 points, while for the ammunition that hit target with lesan viewfinder, the point based on the area where the ammunitions hit. Winners were selected based on the highest point.

From this competition, Adi from Berita Satu TV was successfully became the champion for the riffle category, while Yuda from Indo Pos became a winner for handgun category. (Anggia)
