Ministry of Research and Technology Visited PT Pindad

On Tuesday, March 11^th, 2014, the delegations from Deputy of Science and Technology Network from Ministry of Research and Technology were visited PT Pindad (Persero). The delegations which were led by Deputy of Science and Technology Network, Agus R Hoetman, were accepted by PT Pindad (Persero) Director of Finance, Rita Widayati at Auditorium Directorate Building. This event was also attended by Head of Weapon Division, Head of Special Vehicle Division, Deputy Director of Resources Development, and some PT Pindad (Persero) related staffs.

As a part of governance in research and technology sector, the Ministry of Research and Technology has some purposes, one of them is to strenghten science and technology network between the governance and industries. Therefore, the Ministry of Research and Technology especially Deputy of Science and Technology Network was visited the industries to see the production activities in order to formulate the science and technology strenghtening plan.

The event was started with presentation about PT Pindad (Persero) from the Finance Director. Afterwards, the de;egations were asking so many questions which related to PT Pindad (Persero) businesses until the possibility to do a cooperation with many parties, both domestic and international which could be facilitated by Ministry of Research and Technology. Moreover, the development of research and development which conducted by PT Pindad (Persero) would also be supported by Ministry of Research and Technology.

After that, the event was continued by visiting the production facilities of PT Pindad (Persero). The first one was the Special Vehicle Division. The explanation about the making process of Special Vehicle components until the assembling process to form a whole special vehicle product was got by the delegations from Head of Special Vehicle Division, Edy Purwanto.

Production facilities at Weapon Division was the place that next visited by the delegations. Various kind of weapons which were produced by PT Pindad (Persero) became the center of attention of the delegations at the Display Room of Weapon Division. After that, the delegations were got an opprtunity to try the performance of some long barrel weapons such as SS2-V1 and SPR-3.

The visit at Weapon Division was became the closing of the visit from Ministry of Research and Technology that day. Hopefully, after this visit, the science and technology strenghtening plan could be achieved. (Anggia)
